It's good to see the Huskies take to the court again, albeit in their "practice" uniforms. I guess the team manager must have misplaced the good ones.

The team looked good sometimes and not-so-good at other moments. My guess is that if Geno was pleased at all, he kept that joy to himself. There is obviously work to do, but that was a given before the first tip off.

It's amazing when experience translates into confidence and the effect it has on an individuals plav. Kia and Gabby looked comfortable and confident and it was apparent in the way they played. Courtney still looked a little unsure, maybe because of all the lost time last year. I think it would do a world of good for her if she just hit a few threes. Where I really noticed the comfort level was how the experienced players were diving after loose balls, hustling quicker and more involved in the play than the less experienced players, especially the rookies.

I kept thinking...if these freshman don't start diving on or chasing after loose balls even when up by 50, they will need to learn to like playing the bench. I attribute some of the slowness or sluggishness due to shaking off the rust of playing in an actual game. I thought KLS settled down a bit in the second half when she started hitting a couple from long range.

Let me add my thanks to you, tcf. I've been travelling and this is my first opportunity to watch. My impression is, wow, Nurse's defense is outstanding, and I know I'm scheduled for cataract surgery, but damn, I can't even focus on Jefferson.
