LET'S GO SUN!!

I like the Sun at home in this one. It's hard to win on the road, especially in the post-season. Taurasi (26 pts) and Bonner (29 pts) will have to match their efforts in Tuesday's game against Dallas for the Mercury to win this one.

The Sun have to lock down if they get a lead and not let Phoenix back in.

Keep your feet on their necks and don't let them get back up again!!!!!

.-.
Here we go. Hopefully this game will be more competitive than LA-Washington.

Chiney isn't starting but is available apparently.

Talbot is wearing a face mask tonight, that's new.

Bonner hit a 3 to start the scoring. She has been on a tear recently.

Tune in to this game folks! Fast paced and lots of scoring. 13-11 Connecticut early. Mostly 3's for the Merc and points in the paint for the Sun.

Merc were getting a bit too dependent on jacking 3's, so Taurasi had a stroll down the lane past 3 defenders for a layup.

15-13 Sun leading, Griner shooting FTs after a commercial break.

Phoenix again not utilizing Griner properly. Need to get her the ball deep in the paint if they are to have a chance tonight.

Sun was pulling away, then Merc went on a 9-0 run to take the lead. Banham hit a 3 to break the streak. 25-24 Sun after Q1.

.-.
Outside of D, Merc aren't shooting very well. Still hanging around though. 29-26 Sun.

Why won't the Sun throw the ball into Chiney or Jonquel when they are matched up against Bonner?? My goodness, they only want to attack Griner. The only good post up they had was Tuck on Taurasi, but she missed the layup. Thomas needs to make layups.

44-40 Sun leading at the half. DT has 15 points.

J. Thomas and Williams leading Connecticut w/ 11 apiece.

Bonner has 9 but she's only 4-13 from the floor. When she's on she's great, but if not she looks a bit of out of control w/ some poor shot selection.

DT doing her thing. Connecticut was up 7 early in Q3 but now the Merc is up 53-51. D has hit a couple 3's, nothin' but net. Some nice dishes too.

DT for 3 ... right now she looks unstoppable from long range; so smooth and all net. But I fear CT has too many weapons.

.-.
Anyone know if Geno is at the game? Saw him on NESN earlier today... he was at Fenway Park for the 1 pm Red Sox game. Would have had more than enough time afterwards to make it up to Uncasville for the 8:30 pm start.

Sun responded with a run to go back up 6. Now a 2 point lead. Griner has had a big Q3 as well as DT. Jones is having a nice game, doing some stat sheet stuffing.

Back and forth we go. 6 point lead quickly dwindled, Merc regained the lead. Trading buckets. 72-71 Phoenix.

Williams' jumper rattled out to end the quarter. 72-71 Merc. This has been a good game!

25, 19 and 15 for the Big 3 for Phoenix. Sun has 16, 14, 13 and 13 for Williams, J. Thomas, Jones and A. Thomas.

.-.
Wow, Bonner is leading everybody w/ 13 rebounds! With all of those big bodies on the floor, how is she doing that?

Ragged start to Q4 for both teams. DT got a little breather but she's back in now. 76-73 Phoenix, 6:18 left.

tied at 78, media TO at 4:58

Williams hit a couple jumpers including a 3

Griner scored a couple buckets in the paint

16 rebounds and counting for Bonner

January hit a 3

other end Williams hits a desperation heave behind the arc and got fouled

tied at 81 pending the FT

Williams tied w/ DT for scoring lead at 25

DT has been quiet since re-entering the game. She needs to take over.

Williams hit another jumper. 84-81 Sun.

Talbot hit a 3 to tie. Where is DT? Not like her to shy away from the spotlight.
