i so hope bowl eligibility soon becomes just another game. getting back to football relevance is a marathon for a program like UConn, just because of where we were as a program and where we are in the conference stuff. But a 6 win floor is a new place for me as a fan. It's not time yet, but I am looking forward to one day soon seeing a 10-win UConn football team.

It’s a great win because it’s a win. We’re (probably) going bowling but let’s print at least 2 more Ws, give Syracuse a fight (and maybe steal that one?)

So the season is a success so far. Good job.

But for god’s sake, please please please can we have a competent passer and someone to lead the offense next year?

Those mistakes didn't have much on the result of the game, but it had an impact on the betting line since the spread was UConn -8. Funny how those things worked in the end
It definitely had an effect on the game. Ga State was one onside kick recovery from having the ball and trying to score the game tying TD on a tired defense. In fact they were very close to recovering that onside kick and I am convinced the UConn player took the ball away from him on the ground so much credit to that player who did that. I am glad UConn got the victory and will go to a bowl game as that is a big stepping stone for this program, but that game was far more suspenseful then it had to be.

I honestly thought that Georgia state recovered the ball (they were first one to the ball). Bechtle (#46 I think) got there afterwards and wanted the ball more. It was his senior night too, what better way to have a final memory at the Rent.
yeah, I was surprised by that and I expected an automatic review

I really question that punt decision vs going for it. Mora made the decision to give the ball back to Georgia ST and hope our defense could hold team. It almost cost us the game if they recovered that on-site kick.

I swear if we are at opponent 35, and we got a chance to put the game away, we need to just go for it vs punting. We should never punt at opponent 35.

The game management was really questionable. Not Mora's best performance, but cant complain much about a win

UConn has 1 of the best running games in the country. We would have run the ball down Alabama's throat tonight. We should get Top 25 votes. Should run the table and be in the Top 25. Lets go!
If they run the table and are 9-3, they wont get votes.!”

I definitely see your thought process on that and it's a good point. But I also wonder what the sentiment would be if that DB makes that simple interception-Mora cannot be blamed for the DBs ineptitude on that play.

Absolutely! The O line was able to get the blocks needed for the run game to get yards. Why not put trust in the RBs to get the yardage on 4th and short? It seemed the calls were too conservative, gutless even, and almost let GS back in the game. At the very least, the boys closed out the home slate of games 5-1, I'll sleep good tonight.

The defense made so many mistakes after it was 34 to 17 it was ridiculous. Roughing the passer, dropping easy INT giving up huger plays, jumping offsides on 4th down. All unforced errors.

The miracle was recovering the onsides kick.
The first roughing actually helped UConn in the long run. It gave Ga ST first down and was followed by a UConn interception which gave them a short field a TD. No roughing and GA St punts there, no int. Funny how sometimes bad things turn into good things.

If UConn can run for 250+ yards doesn't matter.

Frustration is when run game is stuffed and they can't adjust to passing.
I think UConn fanbase is looking at games through a pro football lense. College offense with colelfe ability. As long as they run the ball they will be fine.

I mean. Qb is clearly weakest spot on the offense, but they are 6-3 with this shaky qb situation. Win games.

Should have two more wins before bowl game. I think our defense would give SU fits but don’t think we are quite there.

Yes. Some areas of improvement. But nothing crazy or awful to obsess about. Are they top 25 caliber? Not even close.
But I would argue they are around top 50 and may end the season at about that if there are no surprises

For UConn Football to build on this year and get better to the heights we would like them to get to instead of regressing, the QB situation has to improve. I am not sure UConn's 2025 QB is on the roster right now. Welliver? Maybe, but we have not seen him play and he needs to add some weight to that frame. I would like UConn to get a QB who has some FBS experience and some success passing the ball or at least like the one Georgia State had tonight. I know it will be tough for UConn to get a QB in the transfer portal that is in the top 40th percentile, but the QB Georgia State had tonight showed some decent passing skills.

I really liked Garrett Scroeder who was the QB for Syracuse last year that they got from the transfer portal. I don't know if a QB like that is out of reach for UConn, which is why I suggested someone like the Georgia State QB.

I don't think UConn is there either. I would love it if they shocked me with an upset win over Syracuse, but I am certainly not expecting it.
