Right now the biggest scheduling concerns for me are getting a marquee home game for 2024 and any non-FCS home game for 2025 - especially a home and home that was in East Hartford in 2024 and away 2027 ideally (or 2026) . The problem with the 2026 BYU opponents is that none of them would take the 2026 game at home to play UConn in East Hartford 2024 - they all have P5 OOC road games already. Stanford already has at Hawaii in 2025 which is a very long trip already, too.
side note, still trying to figure out why UConn plays 2023 and 2024 at UMass and then home 2025. UMass really could use the home game a lot more in 2024 than 2025. UMass's 2024 schedule already has Army and Missouri at home which would be considered pretty good home games and 2025 UMass's road schedule is brutal - swapping the location of the 2024 and 2025 games makes a lot of sense for both schools. UConn's 2024 home schedule isn't super awesome (it would be Army, FAU, Buffalo, Temple, Georgia St and UMass) but gives flexibility to add an FCS for a 7th home game in 2024 or do another home-home series with the away game in 2024 and home in 2025 (home schedule currently: CCSU, Ball State, FIU, UAB, UMASS)

I agree that 24 and 25 are our biggest concerns. They both have weak home slates. 2026 on looks good.

Furthermore on scheduling I would love to see something with:
H&Hs
1) UVA
2) Rutty
3) Pitt
4) Northwestern
5) UCF (the ConFLiCT continues!)
6) Kansas

I'd tolerate one off games with
7) Penn St
8) South Carolina (for recruiting)
9) Florida St.
10) UCLA or USC
11) Stanford

Dont love it, but if we have too
12) Texas
13) Texas A&M

Not interested:
Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma
I would love it if UCONN played SC in the Coliseum. Would 1,000% travel for that game.

Question I've always wondered about....does the 'host' school pay for the visitor's travel costs for so called 'buy' games?

I think that is what is baked into the cost of buy $ amount. In other words, if UConn was paid $1.6 million to go to Clemson, they are giving UConn $1.3 million for the privilege of not returning the game in East Hartford AND $250-300k for the travel expenses. I say that since even for a standard home and home game, the host gives $300k to the away team when the game is played and that same mine is sent back when the game is returned. Pretty standard practice and you'll see it in any home and home game contract.

Here's an example of UConn's upcoming series v. Syracuse:

You will see on pg. 1 schools are passing money back and forth with each game to defray the expenses of travel for a football team.

A trip to South Carolina in 2026 would make a lot of sense for both teams. I don't think they'd go home and home but it would be a good buy game for UConn. SC needs another home game in 2026 since they are @Clemson that year. UConn only has 3 home games already for 2026 but there are two potentially winnable P5 B1G teams coming to East Hartford. 2026 also does not have UMass officially on the schedule yet (would be a road game) or Army (would be home game). A home schedule of Lafayette, Maryland, Indiana and Army is a very good start - don't need to add much but 1 more G5/Indy game.

Edit: Trying to look at some of the locals for 2026 home game.. Rutgers would be unlikely since they already have road game at BC (2025 or 2027 trip to East Hartford for Rutgers would work...) BC 2026 already is at Cincy but they have played multiple road games in the past OOC (sort of... depending on how ND is considered). Buffalo would likely work for 2026 for a home game with a return in 2027 to Buffalo... Temple is already on the schedule. Navy in East Hartford would be somewhat unlike in 2026 since they are playing army and ND already with both games being likely off their campus and visiting Air Force. Pitt already has road OOC in 26 (wisconsin), WV is full in 26. Penn State won't play in East Hartford.

Might want to edit that again, he meant the REAL SC, not the school that is neither SC nor Carolina

I'd really like to see one of the Washington teams on the schedule and either California or UCLA. I know those are long shots, but I would love to make those road trips. Especially UCLA, I miss LA so much.
Why? UConn doesn't really recruit those areas.

Probably way over reading but he said FINALIZING SCHEDULES. So, it'd be great if the "24 and "25 schedules were finalized (3 games needed) with all ACC schools and at least 2 of those were home games. Anything else needed to finish the series being beyond "26

If anyone is curious, below are the open OOC games for ACC schools...
BC: 2x 2024, 1x 2026
Duke: 1x 2024, 1x 2026 (UConn in 2024 already)
FSU: 2x 2025, 1x 2026
GT: 1x 2023, 1x 2025, 1x 2026
Louisville, 1x 2026
Miami: 1x 2023, 1x 2025
NC State: 1x 2025, 1x 2026
UNC: 1x 2025
Pitt: 1x 2023, 1x 2025, 3x 2026
Cuse: 2x 2024
Virginia: 3x 2025, 2x 2026

Would seems a series with Pitt and Virginia are the most likely options.

He missed SU in 27 on his count.
No I didn't, because...

Well...I think they skipped 27 because that's the 6th year. North Carolina is on that years schedule also.
^^

On that published list, which is the most up to date of official announcements that I know of, there is no combination of five consecutive seasons with 14 ACC games. Of course the Pitt home and home is a poorly kept secret, but that leaves one more slot. The 2 for 1 is an interesting thought. I'd hope that's with a high-profile school.

It's probably a home and home with Virginia or Pitt and a pay-day game with a school like USC or Alabama.

How about a pay day game with FSU or Miami?

Without getting into the scheduling minutiae, I do want to say that I have been pretty impressed with what David Bennedict and company have accomplished so far. UConn's recent history has marked it as essentially an FCS level team in FBS level uniforms. So how they have managed to put together the schedules they have in light of that fact is pretty amazing. Let's fast forward a couple years and stipulate that the UConn program is starting to show real signs of improvement. I wonder if the scheduling problem becomes easier or harder? Of course the answer is a whole lot easier if the dominoes of realignment fall UConn's way and UConn has found a favorable landing place. But if they are still independent? Will UConn still be an attractive dance partner with a much stronger team?

I assume that there have already been some next man up discussions with the ACC if Benedict and Mora are out there sending signals. It's gonna be really expensive, though, as the JI has mentioned. If they manage to finesse that little problem (if indeed it occurs) my hat will be off. The support of the Guv will be important.
