Further Big East Expansion?

“Sure, it’s fun to be in a conference with basketball blue bloods like Duke, North Carolina, and Syracuse, but what do the Irish really get out of being in the ACC?”

LOLOLOLOL
SYRACUSE,

Well...they did play Syracuse 105 years ago...Knute Rockne was the tight end in that game.

If Temple didn't have football I would take them just as a middle finga to the AAC. They are usually pretty good in hoops (bubble team every year) outside of this season. Geographically speaking it would be ideal as opposed to a Notre Dame, Wichita St., etc.

The only upside to Notre Dame in the Big East is in the long run they might provide a good team for the women to play.
Agreed. When you throw in women's basketball, it would be a great move for ND and Uconn.

ND left Hockey East I believe partly because it felt like an outsider. I could see the same rationale for leaving the ACC and joining the Big East, especially being able to return to MSG at least a couple of times a year. Heck the ACC probably wouldn't even care as long as ND agreed to keep it's partial football membership.

Oh...the ACC cares...thus the contract binding the Irish....and the GOR until 2036.

Dayton...let's do it. I'd prefer adding Gonzaga and St Mary's though but that doesn't make geographic sense
dayton will get in over xavier's dead body.

i highly doubt the big east expands past 11 for a long time. really don't need to. val has said as much

Very true. It's a solid league that will be enjoyable to be a part of. Even if we have in the middle of the pack for a year or two.

Why do the speculators always choose to forget this part. Those bums can’t go anywhere, and anyway for putting us in our current position.

we'll be lucky to be middle of the pack.

But, but, but, we've won 4 NC's. Doesn't that mean the other teams will lie down for us like they have in the AAC..................................uh, never mind.

Now that UConn is coming back next season and will be the 11th team, I would want to keep it that way with the Round robin schedule of 20 conference games per team. I'm sure the big east loves to keep that going as well.

Anyone but Notre Dame
They are poison for any conference
Their "our way only" attitude is not needed
They are not special anymore
