Frame and Beaufort

Had the luxury of a good hoops guy at Maloney tonight and gave me some insight into these 2 kids. I am not sure where the Huskies stand with either to be honest but know they have been mentioned here. Windsor played Newington in the 1st game and East Hartford took on Bloomfield......

Frame for one is 6'2 on his best day and is a nice player, great body, strong and physical. Looked to have a nice stroke but made maybe 2 of 7, 3 of 8.....not slow but not really fast or quick but athletic. As he said one game sample, but UConn? Maybe as a 3rd or 4th guard but more likely a lower BE school or Fairfield guy as his handle is only okay.........note: Coach Smith made a player who got a T then proceeded to make a scene, take his shirt off and go to the bus - his last game in the uni - middle of the game.......

Beaufort, again 1 game sample. No way over 6'1" 1/2..........nice "stuff" but maybe too much flash. Doesn't start so why? If it's because he's trouble then there's a sign...if it's he's the 6th or 7th best player that's not good.......while it was 1 game I was told maybe low Divy 1 - mid major.......not overly impressive and can't see UConn

just one man's opinion and again, one night also so who knows what game they brought!!

Don't think we will serious pursue either of these kids, we are dealing with much higher ranked kids. Have either of you guys seen EJ Crawford, the sophomore from Simsbury? Also have you heard anything on our chances with Chukwu?

UConn just offered Chukwu this past weekend. Sounds like his recruitment has a long ways to go so tough to tell where UConn stands at this point.

Nothing surprises me on listed heights. I talked to Chris Smith at Wesfarms Mall one day. He was listed at 6'2" but was really about 5'10"-5'11" so 3" could be close to reality.

The person who I know very well is 6'3", was at the scorers table working and knows for a fact he was NOT as big!!! Just saying I believe him........

Kahari Beaufort torched Jared Wilson-Frame last night in their playoff game. He had 32 points in their playoff game. I had a couple fiends there, they have also seen a few other games of his, and they told me that he's a D1 player. Maybe not UConn caliber but given another year you never know.

Has anyone seen Tyshon Rogers play? He's a junior on Crosby and my buddy who is a high school coach in CT. says Rogers is the best in the state. He averages 32 a game but from doing a search it seems like he's not being recruited by anyone.

That's true, but who knows how many drinks people in the chain of communication may have had, leading to totally unreliable clarification. HuskyWarrior has played with him on the same team for some time and seems less likely to be showing Team Fishy drinking behavior.

He's a product of a system that puts up alot of points they average about 81 a game and he averages 24 shots a game. His 3 point shooting needs to be improved on alot for anyone of a high caliber to offer.

Gotcha thanks, I caught some Crosby games when they had the stacked team with Damian Saunders and Julian Allen and others, very fun high school team to watch. Anthony Ireland and Monteiro were good also.

Here are the CIAC Tourney pairings http://www.casciac.org/brackets/bbb2013LL.html. March 8 Hillhouse vs. Simsbury would be nice (Hillhouse would blow them out)
but Bridgeport Central will most likely take out Simsbury and the EJ Crawford (Sophomore)/Rayon Christie (Just a frosh) combo. Christie & Crawford will be special next year. Both are D1 players. Simsbury lost to Ollie/Glastonbury in the CCC Tourney. Jordan Butler/Glastonbury will play low mid-major and is a real tough player.

Fairfield Prep. of course has Chukwa. I think Beaufort is very very good. Room for improvement but he has the talent. Fun player to watch and he is explosive for a guard.

Jared is about 6'3 6'4. I'm 6'3 and he's the same height as me if not taller. There's a 6'6 guy on the team and he's not much shorter than him. I've said this before too that we don't want a guy like Kahari. This is his 3rd year at East Hartford and the first year he's actually been able to play. Jared isn't a bad kid.

He's young and thinks along the lines of the HS programs still.........I'm already past my 1977 program of 6'2 I promise.......
