I'm not sure if this has been pointed out yet, but one of my favorite random facts from this past season is that no UConn player ever fouled out of any game all year. I would love to know if this is unprecedented in UConn history, but I haven't been able to verify that. The UConn athletic site has season box scores going back to 2000-01, so I do know it hadn't happened in at least 15 years. In any case, chalk it up as one more remarkable feat by this remarkable team.

I think Mo fouled out of a game a couple of years ago.

I think u r right about her fouling out.

It is extraordinary, yes, and bespeaks the all encompassing training and discipline inculcated in the team members by the coaching staff. It's a big hole in the Syracuse resume ... over 300th in fouls per game and you saw it Tuesday night. They could hardly get close to a UConn player without fouling.

Which supports Jimbo's point, no?
Oh yeah sorry I misread that to mean no player had fouled out of a game in 15 years. I think he is right that no one fouled out this year. It's tough to get 5 fouls when players only get so many minutes. What do the starters average 20 something minutes per game?

I don't know if it's the last time a player fouled out, actually I'm not sure if it's the last time 2 players fouled out  but, 11/17/14 @ Stanford came up when I searched.

It's in the wikipedia article for last(2014-15) season.

For the record, I didn't remember. Hmmm, what record??????

edit: Tuck and Nurse fouled out in the 11/17/14 loss @ Stanford, the boxscore at uconnhuskies.com is not functioning at the time of this post.

The starters* actually average sort of standard Uconn starter minutes of 26-31 per game (Morgan 26.8 - Moriah 30.9.) I think what is more telling is that there were only 3 games decided by less than 15 points and only two more under 20. If you are not in a competitive game and someone picks up a few stupid fouls it is a lot easier to manage their minutes.

* the fifth starter position was filled by multiple players at different times so it is hard to calculate their actual minutes as a starter and I am too lazy to do it!:)

Yeah, sorry for any confusion in my initial post, which probably could have been a little clearer. I did realize that players had fouled out of games as recently as last season. What hadn't happened in at least 15 years (possibly more, but I can't tell) was UConn going through an entire season with no one fouling out.
