Former Huskies - December

love love love Calhoun, Frankenstein-like, incredulously walking onto court perplexed/about to choke out Roscoe

Weirdest play by a UConn player: This or Dan Orlovsky running out of the back of the endzone?

Carlton was good for Houston. Both sides helped him move on to a place that would really work for him.

It’s water under the bridge now, but Floyd really listened to the wrong people.

I mean, Floyd would have stayed on the bench here. He would have been recruited over so at least he gets starter minutes but yeah being on 2 national title teams vs playing on the dumpster fire that is Providence is a decison

Curtis Kelly at K State had maybe the best post-UConn transfer career

He got way too heavy here - wasn’t happy and just put on a lot of weight. He dropped like 40 pounds at K State and was just much better.

I really disliked Josh Carlton's game for us. He was just a bad fit and it worked out great for everyone that he transferred. Sanogo and Whaley balled out for us and Carlton had a good senior season for Houston.

There isn't a single UConn player who went elsewhere I wished stayed at UConn.

He got jerked around here. They made him gain weight, they made him lose weight. It was so dumb. Samson just put him on the floor. That worked better.

Without and data to back it up, Alex Oriakhi and Roscoe Smith come to mind.

Roscoe was way too crazy for JC. Olander was nowhere near as talented but JC seemed to prefer the known vs whatever Roscoe might do. I really like Smith and was sorry to see him to…we didn’t miss him though.

AO was just circumstances….his best friend, Jamal Coombs-McDaniel basically got kicked out, Drummond came in, he sulked about his role, blamed everyone under the sun for his troubles and then the NCAA banned us from the tourney. We didn’t suffer there either.

I’ve actually met him since - genuinely nice fellow.

Good god, since this update, Darius Adams had 19 in an OT win over Mt. St. Mary’s. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a line like that: 1-4 from the floor, 0-3 from three, 17-21 at the foul line.

That is like Shai if he couldn't shoot lol

Two others that did well where they transferred from UConn but UConn didn't exactly miss:

Adams (the one who actually played and graduated from UConn) had a good two years at GW.

Diggins found his level and played well at UMass.

I guess you haven't looked at many of our Big East box scores. That's seemingly the norm against us, evidently Hurley teaches kids to hack

☺️

There have been a few UConn transfers who had success elsewhere, but not a single guy we've missed. I'm sure it'll happen at some point, but nothing even debatable so far

Nowell with 8 points in 15 minutes a 101-58 blowout over Coppin (4-8 shooting), no assists or boards. Averaging 6-1-1 on 39-21-69 splits and is basically the ninth or 10th man in their rotation.

Abraham with a nice game against Wagner. Shot 4-5 (2-2 from 3) for 12 points and 5 boards in 23 minutes. Averaging 6-3-0 on 46-30-67 splits.

Even before this game, he’s shown an ability to get the line. Haven’t seen a second of his play this year, but he’s doing better than I thought he would. Still wouldn’t be getting any minutes here, but still…

In hindsight, Adams ability to get mauled consistently because of his frame would probably translate well to college reffing. If he ever fixes his shot, which I think is likely, he’ll probably make a great college scorer.

seems he found his perfect landing spot. He’s just efficient enough to play as a freshman and his free throws help set up the D for that team.

Had 15 in a win against UNLV and is now averaging 13 and 5. But is shooting 32% from the floor and is 4-30 from 3. That’s just hideous.

I watched the whole VCU/NC State game yesterday and was shocked at how little Nowell played, searched twitter and google news afterwards and didn't see any reporting of an injury. Only played 2 first half minutes and right away dribbled himself into a trap near half court that resulted in a jump ball(retained possession) but other than that didn't really do anything that would signal he wasn't gonna get any more minutes, and Nyk Lewis didn't play all that well himself.
How is Nowell’s dad doing? He staying quiet?

Does anyone remember him doing this again? I swear that he did it a second time the following year with like five seconds left. Not as egregious, but still having absolutely no clock awareness.

I had a weird dream on Saturday night that Ryan Boatright was playing his sixth year of eligibility at Oakland (the school that Greg Kampe coaches at), so I guess that's relevant to this thread?

I was about to say not once but TWICE lol

Bundalo hasn't appeared in the last two games at all for Ole Miss, and there's zero info on him on the interwebs. In the preseason, there were articles about Ole Miss bringing in their highest recruit ever, a McDAA, etc. And now crickets.

I looked for an Ole Miss sports board, and (unsurprisingly) there's a tiny blip about basketball amongst 384093209 football posts. Their "fans" don't even know who is on the team because they flipped their roster. I'm actively avoiding work, so I looked and their roster this year is nine portal guys, four freshmen, and two returnees. So the "fans" have a point.

Yes! Do you remember who it was against or the circumstances?
All i remember is it was more seconds on the clock than the Texas one and on the play I think something happened wit the refs calling time so it ain’t count lol

Maybe that's why it didn't get much play at all. I just remember being absolutely dumbfounded that it could actually happen again.
