Maybe that's why it didn't get much play at all. I just remember being absolutely dumbfounded that it could actually happen again.

Jerry Rice was a Bronco for like 10 seconds.Id love to see a "he wore THAT jersey????" thread. I could've sworn I started one years ago.

OK, back on track, I would be hard-pressed to think of a single transfer that evokes a feeling of "the one that got away."
Some guys have had decent careers elsewhere, but I can't think of any where both:
1) their performance was significantly better at a new school, and
2) we didn't have a better replacement to take their spot
Yes, Carlton was better with Houston than he was here, but not as good as Sanogo. Curtis Kelly was behind Thabeet and we had capable backups.
Gilbert, Floyd, etc., needed a change of scenery and we had better guys coming in.
love love love Calhoun, Frankenstein-like, incredulously walking onto court perplexed/about to choke out Roscoe
I miss Cam
LOL, just saw the face and the manic yelling, didn’t bother reading. But this is his brother.
I understand he's going through grad school on a shoe scholarship........😎Doug Wrenn is one of my favorite UConn players ever, even though he did relatively little good while here. I randomly found a news report on him last year where he completely turned his life around after some legal issues, and I think he was pursuing his doctorate in Sociology.
I peeked into that game and VCU was up at the half.Nowell didn’t play in VCUs 81-78 loss to UNM tonight
does that mean twice on Sunday? You can probably count the number of players who've transferred out of here and been someone we regret leaving on one hand.
I'll take Malachi Smith over Nowell 8 days a week.
Josh Carlton. But he wasn’t going to get more than 8 minutes a game here behind Sanogo so it’s not like we needed him to stay. There have been guys who put up pretty good numbers at lower-level schools (Diggins at UMass comes to mind immediately, others are out there, I'm sure), but I can't think of anyone who's been even a rotation piece at the power conference level. However, I have a feeling Abraham will buck that trend.
Don't really want to count Oriakhi and Roscoe since that was an entirely different landscape and had some weird circumstances. In the era of the portal, I can't think of anyone.
Tasheed Carr hasn’t tweeted in 3 weeksNowell didn’t play in VCUs 81-78 loss to UNM tonight
So Hurley was right? wow.Nowell didn’t play in VCUs 81-78 loss to UNM tonight
I could never figure this out. He seemed to be a great athlete and good size (6-7). I think you're right. He's closer to home (from VA)There have been guys who put up pretty good numbers at lower-level schools (Diggins at UMass comes to mind immediately, others are out there, I'm sure), but I can't think of anyone who's been even a rotation piece at the power conference level. and Ed Cooley could give him the time and patience.
Nowell only played 2 minutes against NC State yesterday. A freshman has the PG role there (Nyk Lewis) and when they shortened their rotation in the second half, he didn’t play. Went through the VCU gameday thread to see if maybe he was injured and he wasn’t even a topic of conversation.
This. He is built in a very similar mold to Stew/Ross but is worse than both. There are no minutes for him.Is it that difficult to figure out? He didn’t play last year. Whose minutes would he take this year? AK? Stew? So he probably wouldn’t have played this year. Maybe he wouldn’t played next yesr, but then again, I’d expect us to bring in an impact 4. So it made no sense for him to stay and rot on the bench here when he was an instant starter at GTown.
