Cleveland State 44 Kentucky 36 1230 to go

This on top of Duke having tough games against East Carolina and Vermont at home, Michigan State having close games at home etc, Syracuse having close games etc.

Not watching the game but according to Gottlieb's tweets looks like the refs had a lot to do with KY's comeback. Surprising I know.

I watched the whole last twelve minutes, and the refs definitely had a lot to do with the comeback. Kentucky just began shamelessly putting their head down and driving expecting to get a call.

One of the key's to the 1999 team was the ability to win close games. Duke didn't know what a close game was. In the finals they went up against a team that had developed the toughness to pull out close games.

Can every world event not result in a "This is for the whiners...." post?

Fair question, but I actually found the theme entirely appropriate in this context. The propensity of our fanbase to identify every darkish cloud in otherwise mostly sunny skies is highly annoying.

I was going to start a thread "For all the whiners who are whining about whiners". But you know where I live.

Mine was going to be about "the whining whiners worried about the whiners who whine over whining and not winning"!

What do you mean by "fanbase"? It's only a couple of numbnuts.

Husband and wife stuff here. Please stick to basketball threads and let me continue whining about my whining wife.

I don't know who is whining or unhappy with our start. For myself, I look at our actual games. I don't give two turds how other teams play. What matters to me is whether UConn plays well or not. Against BC, we did not play well. We were awful in the 2nd half, particularly on offense. We got a little lucky that it didn't cost us a W. The Maryland game was another that we allowed to become risky with sloppy, disorganized basketball in the 2nd half. Against Indiana the defense was solid all night, and the offense was decent, maybe a C+ but no better than that.

It's early season. If you think KO thinks we played like the Michael Jordan Bulls every night you're nuts. I guarantee he sees the mistakes, the problems, the things that absolutely must be improved if we are going to keep winning, especially against better teams. That's the nature of college basketball in November, very few teams are hitting on all cylinders. Some can win those games anyway, others cannot. That builds character, but doesn't change the fact that all these teams will be much better in February and March, and the Huskies better get a lot better too.

We are undefeated. That's great. I'm happy with that, but I'm realistic about what needs to improve.
