General Manager for Football job posted yesterday:

The University of Connecticut is seeking applications and nominations for the position of General Manager for Football.

The General Manager (GM) for Football at the University of Connecticut (UConn) must be a visionary leader responsible for the football program's comprehensive management, innovation, and strategic direction. This role demands a proven track record in initiating and implementing innovative projects, functioning as an intrapreneur within the athletics department and the greater UConn system. Beyond football, the GM will serve as a strategic partner and advisor to the Athletic Director (AD) and, at the discretion and direction of the AD, the GM may be asked to support other university sports programs, leveraging expertise in organizational development, leadership, and resource optimization to enhance overall athletic performance and institutional impact.

The GM will report to the AD and work closely with the head coach and football program as an invaluable resource and partner.

Gotta think it'll be heavy on Midwest guys, not just from Toledo. Might be some young up and comers at tOSU, oops I mean Ohio State University, also the cream of the MAC crop. The MAC guys are all used to doing more with less and then trying to beat the heck out of each other. Really hope Sammis has a place, but I'm sure he'll be ok. Really think he's going to be a good HC somewhere in the not too distant future.

The article above (and others) say he’s headed to Iowa State.
Oh wow.. my bad... Kehres went to 'Cuse... my bad... thought there was still an in on Ross...

Our next DC should be hire may have to be a home run too...

I would expect a bunch of announcements with UConn coaches going to CSU after our bowl game.

I would also expect a bunch of announcements of Toledo coaches heading to UConn after Toledo’s bowl game.

Didn't assistant coach openings get posted on Friday & Monday. Hasn't there been talk about a "5 day rule" before hiring announcements? That would indicate that announcements will be made by next Monday...

There was a report that all the Toledo coaches are staying at Toledo until their bowl game is over so I would not expect to hear many staff changes until then (12/23). Even then I would expect most of the changes to come out 12/29 the Monday after the Fenway Bowl

Will next year's team still BE UNCOMMON?

I wouldn't be shocked if there are announcements of who will be joining even if they aren't starting the job until after the school's bowl games. (From a continuity standpoint I can't imagine they'll have new and old staff's mixing at Fenway)

Toledo coaching staff

Weiner- Co-offensive coordinator and QB coach for six seasons. Interim HC for bowl game.
Hallett- Co-ofensive coordinator and O Line coach
Eliano- DC for the bowl game. Last two seasons he was CB coach and was defensive pass game coordinator in 2025.

Apparently Candle called the plays at Toledo and has been resistant to give up that responsibility. Not that it was ever likely Sammis was coming back, but I would assume that would be the nail in the coffin for possible retention.

One spot open

Looking like wholesale staff changes with a new DC coming in as well, not entirely unexpected. Was a fun 2 year gap in his Mississippi St. tenure. Starting to wonder if there will be any holdovers at this point. Would still love to hold onto Pryce Tracy (QBs), Kashif Moore (WRs), Dalton Hilliard (DBs, was a Mora guy probably headed to CSU), Christian Pace (OL, previously TE), and Antonio Wilcox (RBs).
