How close this game is will tell us a lot about what kind of character this team has. We will see how much of an emotional leader Westheld (probably butchered that) was. Either way, don’t see ND dropping this one.

FSU has won 4 games in a row: VT, MIA, WF, NCSU
FSU is undefeated (7-0) this season on the road.

Are you referring to ND and Westbeld? I don't believe she is on the team anymore (graduation) and she isn't a coach, so...????
Are you suggesting that she was last year's emotional leader? I never had that impression of her.
 
ND supporters suggest that her toughness was the glue that held the team together.

Yes, thank you. I knew I messed up her name. No, I’m saying last year she was the locker room mom, according to many ND posters here. Interested to see just how important she was to keeping the peace. Let’s face it, there are a lot of big personalities on this ND team, not enough spotlight for all to shine.

Yes, we 'hate' ND but you can't think FSU has a chance on the road. :confused:

ND will be out for blood.
 
I can't imagine Arike having two sub-par games in a row. National TV...home crowd...playing a team tied with them in the standings. I expect Notre Dame to roll.
 
A.O. up to her old tricks again. Two drives to the basket ,two thrown elbows. One to a players chest the next one to a players neck and side of head. Neither foul was called. So sad.
 
Fast 1st quarter...Notre Dame leads, 28-22. Irish were up by 10...FSU got it to within 4. Clock didn't stop the last 7 minutes of the quarter.

Elsewhere...Louisville on top of Va Tech, 11-8.
 
Does ND have the conditioning to continue this pace with few fouls being called?
 
This game is being played at an extremely fast pace!

Arike just taking the game over (with a side dose of Shepard). She takes more bad shots and makes them more often than any one else. Not sure what you can do when she is in that zone. Vaughn just whacked on her head with friendly fire.
 
Nice job Shepard. That's one way to make sure your starting spot is safe. Just clobber your backup in the face while going for a rebound.

There was a point in the 1st quarter that it seemed ND made every shot except for three layups.

They look good today; there's always tomorrow
 
Louisville leads VaTech at halftime, 40-25.

Notre Dame put on a clinic in the first half...52-38.
 
Arike is the best offensive scorer in the 2019 Draft. I've concluded shes scoring making great passes (Teammates aren't finishing) Shes really grown as a team player on offense.
 
Durr and Arike are competing to see which NPOY candidate can have the better game. Currently:

Durr @ VaTech: 23 pts on 8-12 shooting, 4 rebs, 2 assists
Arike vs. FSU: 24 pts on 8-13 shooting, 7 rebs, 4 assists

Arike 4-4 from 3pt land. Most of the crazy well defended variety.

ND is awesome today in transition! ND has a chance to repeat if they play the tournament as they are playing today.
 
Nice elbow charge by Patterson, foul on FSU, some games you just tip your cap, but FSU did not help itself with the lack of inside presence and prayer 3 pointers seemingly every possession.

Luckily the Tournament is played on a neutral court the way they’ve been playing on the road hasn’t been good. Yeah if the team that is playing today shows up for 6 games in a row they could. I just hope this is the team that shows up for the Tourny.

I would not read much into this game, ND has owned FSU for a while now.
 
VaTech on a bit of a run...62-56 game, 3:49 left 4th quarter.
