Yeah he was so undecisive on the 1 3 pt shot he took in the 2nd half. He obviously is not confident trying to score in this offense yet.
He’s been really effective in the midrange when he gets into the lane but doesn’t look to do that enough. The passing lanes will open as he gets a little more aggressive and starts drawing more attention. Just too passive right now.

Thank you, Malachi. Clearly our best PG right now and not all that close .

What a win and a what a battle. FLA has some legit dudes
9 assists and no turnovers. He should be starting. Ive seen enough of Demery at this point. Let him figure things out from the bench. Mal has figured things out pretty quickly.

Every foul called on him was a foul
Just rewatched all his fouls. You are right - 3 were definite, 1 was borderline, 1 didn’t really look like it / hard to see. He needs to keep his hands out of the cookie jar

I think Demary is undergoing a big adjustment. If he stays positive I think he develops ahead of Newton's pace. Nice to have Smith in reserve while that happens. And yes -- Ball and Mullins at the same time is going to be a big step forward for this team. But just about everyone has room for improvement (although AK has been huge of late).
He was playing in statistically the best conference of All-Time last year. I understand our offense is quite complex, but this isn’t the same step up Newton had. He needs to do more.

I love Smith coming off the bench giving us energy, defense and leadership is perfect. If Demary is not playing well Smith will get the minutes.

I think with Reed we are just going to have to manage him through the next 3 games. Than a 10 day break.
Agree, his legs weren’t there. Early that was the guy but he tired. When he spun and got near the rim against Chimuya (sp) he couldn’t elevate string through his defense. But nice to have him nonetheless.

Maybe so, but Malachi is playing with so much more confidence and guts. Hopefully Silas figures it out, but he doesn’t seem up to the task right now. Not sure why Malachi is having more fun out there. Maybe a difference in personalities.
Could be as simple as he doesn't have the burden of being the starter. Those are different mentalities. Off the bench you come in play your ass off in the minutes you get leaving everything out there no worries about making mistakes because you know your coming out. Coming off the bench expectation are different.

Forcing that 5 second violation at the end of the game was huge. Still need to work on inbounds plays though.
For some reason Karaban alwasys throws the ball to the ref when we face pressure, it allows the defense to get touch tight and it is then much harder to get it in. Notice the easiest inbound was the one time he didn't do it and Ball was able to get open.

Great win for the resume, UConn. It wasn't pristine and pretty, but it was gritty and a team has to have that quality.

Don't be fooled by Florida's 5-4 record-they are really good and will be in the conversation in March. Florida had Duke on the ropes in Cameron as they had the ball down 1 with a chance to win until Boogie dribbled the ball off his leg.
Boogie sux
