I watched the Karaban play again today. It's pretty iffy and not worth getting worked up over I don't think. Karaban would have been better served just taking it at the rim and trying to get a whistle. He had a clear angle. Make Condon block that without fouling. There was a little body contact on the reverse but no arms or anything. Not the kind of thing that's gonna get called. The reverse had no chance.

Alex has high confidence in that shot; has made it so many times before. The contact just as he was launching created the miss.

The Karaban shot is the one getting all the attention because it was the end of the game, but we had 2 other similar missed opportunities too. Stewart's reverse was another one where in hindsight he should have just gone straight up. But the one that really eats at me is Diarra on the fast break where he was anticipating the defender coming to foul him and missed the layup

So many chances - while it was a valiant effort and the boys played their hearts out it still burns as it would have only added to the Hurley aura. It was right there.

Those plays were a perfect illustration of our problems all year. Jaylin should've dunked it but went up soft and made things far more difficult than they should've been. Alex should've tried to dunk it but probably couldn't have but at least he should've powered home the layup to draw the foul instead of going reverse making things far more diffult. Throw in Liam being flat footed and not securing the defensive rebounds. We need to get more athletic and more aggressive for next season. We were too finesse and had too many problems finishing at the rim the entire season.

I cannot tell you how many layups we had that players turned into reverses, when they should have just powered up with two hands. Going up with two hands is a foul most of the time, sometimes an and one. Instead we kept going under the basket and not converting.

Reverses are fine when they’re necessary - Florida had 0 blocks on the day.

I would he would of been incredible penetrating on this team. He had a great tournament his Freshman year coming off the bench. He was huge that Missouri game in the Tournament. Our weakness on this year's team was penetration. I could name more too but just came up with some off the top of my head.

and finishes when we did. Experience will improve on that for sure.

A lot of people forget that freshman Kemba was a turnover machine...absolutely reckless with the ball driving to the hoop. He was a good player as a freshman, but it's crazy to suggest he was better than

We were up 38-32, 40-34, and 52-46 with ball in hand, but each time could not make a bucket to push the margin up more. We had at least 4 chances to get the lead to 8 or 9 with ball in hand, but just couldn't score.

As I recall someone, young guy wearing #15, putting us on his back,....crunch time, ..late, .....mizzou reg final, ... . leading us to Detroit........

A sad ending for sure but not totally unexpected. They proved all season that on a given night they could compete with the best in the country on some nights just not so much. All of the little things that the best teams do when they have to, didn’t get done when they had to get done. Ball security and box outs being the two biggest for me. Up by 3 with the ball, turnover and your opponent hits a three to tie the game. 5 point play - boom.

I enjoyed another UConn season! They never ever quit. They got me through most of the winter. I will miss SJ and HD- they poured their hearts out onto that court.

We can talk about caring for the ball better, boxing out better, a couple of calls here and there but it all comes down to one easy thing in order to be preparing for yet another 2nd weekend. Make shots, make shots. Wide open looks especially first half and early and we made very few of those. Sucks because given the way the game played out and knowing we can shoot the ball a ton better, this was a game they could have had under control in the last few minutes.

But it’s all the “ifs” we can hold on to but damn, proud of the way they played despite not being talented as the Gators. Fun game to watch actually i was fairly calm based on the fact I was so happy how hard they were playing and so well. They made life hell for the Gators didn’t they?

I’m not disagreeing with you but you are going to have off nights when shooting the ball. I kind of don’t like the almost total dependence on the 3 ball for that reason. I’ll say again though that if you take care of the things that you really have to take care of outside of shooting the ball then you don’t have to look back at the what ifs. Hey I’m as big a fan as anybody but when it comes to most of the losses we had this season, less than good defense and turnovers plagued this version of Huskies all season long.

hadn't listened to any of the major cbb pods after the loss but just catching up on them now and heard a wild stat on the CBS CBB pod from Matt Norlander, prior to the UF loss UConn had won 26 straight tournament games in which they had a 2nd half lead at any point. The last loss was the 09 FF to Mich State.

McNeeley seems to turn 3/4 of his drives into reverses.
