Flaws of the top ten

We're better than the rest. Can't wait, although I'm not rushing time

This is a great visual but why didn’t he group and label BYU, Duke, and Fl? How would you label that group?
Also, what is the the game to game volatility scale based on(1.10 - 1.20)? Michigans loss was very bad but I don’t see that they are hugely volatile - like the scale shows. Unless it somehow penalizes them for large winning scores.

In the Pine Barrens?

Chris and/or Paulie should have been ended in the Pine Barrons. There is no way Valery would have run away without finishing at least one of the Soprano's keystone cops.

1. Those other teams are also great, we and Arizona have simply distanced ourselves as especially elite

2. In any given game Michigan looks either unstoppable or incredibly vulnerable. This team beat top 10 Gonzaga by 40 and went on a streak of demolition against solid teams but at the beginning of the season and right now, they’ve looked terrible against worse competition (Wake Forest, TCU, Wisconsin, Penn State).

It'll be interesting to see if it lands that way. I also wonder if the committee would try to split it teams in the same conference. Perhaps flip Iowa St to the Midwest, Purdue to the South. We shall see.
They would 100% do that. You're not getting #1 and #2 seeds in the same region from the same conference. There may even be bracketing principles that forbid (or strongly discourage) it.

I also have a hard time seeing the Big 12 owning half of the top 8 seeds.

I can see one being bumped for the SEC winner myself.

There’s also the expected offensive boost for UConn in the tourney, where they’ll be unfettered by Big East officiating

This is the best visualization for describing what my eyes have been telling me by watching games this year. Most of us believe we haven’t yet shown our best game (ie how far up the x-axis we can go
