Florida went into Providence last night and won 83-51. Miami went into Temple and won 78-77 -- two outcomes that reflect well on UConn's achievement to date and, dare we say, improve the outlook for their home-and-home with Temple.

Temple plays it’s home games in NY? :)

Everyone was panicking because Florida was struggling for the early part of this season but don't be surprised if they win the SEC....
As I said in other threads to folks who were bitch'n about how the Florida win wouldn't mean much because in their words "they suck" - they have 3 freshmen who were all top 50 recruits, they have the preseason SEC POY, they have a great young coach - they will be getting better as the season progresses

With their outstanding guards and Blackshear, they're one of those teams who can legit beat anyone. They have a big game vs Utah State on Saturday.

They are the only team we played so far that has equal or more talent than us. Good win. Now we just need to stop losing to teams we have more talent than.

Looks like our buddy Cool Eddie’s program is declining

Johnson is growing up quick too strong kid that can shoot it too, tough match up. They’re getting better quick.

It sure looks as if PC's talent was overrated or as if Cooley's losing the team. Duke and Reeves do not seem to be playing with any passion and it's hard to understand how they lost so big to Florida. Sure, Florida has some highly rated freshmen and sophomores, but Lewis (the freshman with the most hype) is averaging 29 minutes and has only hit double figures twice while averaging 7.8 points. Nembhard, the sophomore from Canada that was very highly rated last year also seems to be disappointing so far. The team has struggled in quite a few games. Too bad we didn't get the second shot at them in Charleston. It would have been great to see if Bouknight looked better than Lewis.

10 year contract right?
Yep. Let’s see if he can continue recruiting the area well. I’d hate to see to see him pillage some kids from us and get nothing out of them. That’s a lose-lose.

Kenpom predicts PC to win 2 more games this year. I love how horrible they are.
Actually Kenpom predicts PC to win 6 more games and finish 12-19. Still absolutely awful.

I really, really hate to have to pull for the Florida Lizards....

Declining from what? He has won 1 NCAA tournament game in 13 years as a Head Coach. 1!
I get your point but he had five 20+ win seasons in a row with 5 NCAA appearances. Last year they were in the NIT and don’t look too good this year. Plus , he had years of good recruiting. Hurley alone will disrupt that. Their declining from subpar.

Wait...Providence blasted Sacred Heart by 46 who we beat by only 20 or so and therefor the Yard proclaimed that they must be much, much better than us. Right? Isn't that how this works? They beat St. Peters by 21 as well.

I agree that we should definitely be able to get to 20 wins this year, even if CV keeps playing brain dead. I think we should be able to win atleast 2 of the 4 road games of Cincy, Houston, Temple, and SMU which would push us up to 24 wins if the rest holds true, but I could see us losing a winnable home game like Wichita State or Cincy so.... below 20 wins is a little bit of a disappointment, 22 is what I'd expect and would be a very solid year, and 24 would be way exceeding expectations and a great year!
