I would think that if Tim Cate is truly available, then he will pitch tomorrow. There will be plenty of innings during that doubleheader where you could fit him in. Plus it would be a good warm up for him for the AAC tourney next week.
 
Waiting to see our new RPI, but WarrenNolan hasn't finalized the UCONN win... :mad:

I really like hearing that about Randy. I know Ray Reid is not the most popular guy at the moment, but I've met him a few times at hoops games. Good to have guys running our teams who are into Uconn as a whole. Love it. Penders seems like a real easy guy to want to support.

Lower your aspirations. The guy hasn't pitched in a game since late March. If Cate is actually available and pitches tomorrow, I would think it will only be for an inning or two.

  • The win against No. 9 ECU was the first win over a top 10 team since the Huskies knocked off No. 10 Louisville in the 2013 Big East Tournament. It was only the second game the Huskies played against a top 10 team since that 2013 victory (2016 Gainesville Regional, No. 1 Florida).
  • P.J. Poulin earned his 14th save of the year to tie a UConn single-season record (John Russell, 2017). Poulin has recorded his seventh-straight scoreless outing (11.2 innings)
  • Sophomore Mason Feole is already tied for 18th in UConn history with 15 wins (Anthony Marzi, Elliot Glynn).

If we get one pitch out of Cate it would be a bonus. As much as we could use him, JP needs to be very careful with him. Both the Huskies & he have a lot at stake. It's a really fine line to balance.

Warren Nolan may rely on UConn's Gametracker. Both still have the game in the 8th inning, so it could be a long wait. The Nolan website will figure it out at some point.

And USF and Cincy just announced they are playing a double header as well tomorrow. 4 AAC conference double headers scheduled for tomorrow. Should be a fun day!
