Let’s hope UMass game is at noon.
Potential for the yearly triple header.
Football: noon vs UMass
Hockey: 3:05 vs Maine
Soccer: 7pm vs SMU

What's gonna happen if the team gets a top 16 seed? Are they going to have to go on the road?? Or play in a nearby high school or college?

The stakes are high for today's game. Central Florida won their game last night. In order for UConn to remain in first place in the AAC, UConn needs to beat SMU. And remember, the regular season champion will be the host of the AAC tournament.

John Tuite has a similar photo posted on his Facebook page. Also, according to the same Facebook page, the game will be carried on WHUS. After all the problems that WHUS sports has found in not being able to either staff games or man the studio which has resulted in a big reduction in the number of games they have carried this fall, it is good to see that the sports department was able to adjust to the late rescheduling of the game and be able to carry it. But then again, this potentially last game at Morrone really is a huge UConn event, so it would have been a huge disappointment if it weren't covered by WHUS.

I was attending UConn in the late 1970's and 1980's when Soccer Sunday became a big thing at Storrs. It is fitting that the last regular season at old Morrone Stadium is another Sunday afternoon affair, even if it was caused by a postponement due to bad weather.

SMU scores early in the second half to make it 1-0 in their favor.

SMU scores again to make it 2-0. Big trouble for UConn.

Ray Reid- "This will be the biggest game for our program in 3 years".

Way to show up. Another day in David Benedict's UConn.

13 minutes to go, UConn still down 2 goals. According to John Tuite, Huskies have had some stretches where they have dominated, but to no avail. They need to cash in, but they haven't.

The shots are dead even. I'd hardly call that dominant.

I said stretches, time of possession. It certainly hasn't been for the whole game. In the end SMU cashed in on their chances, UConn has not.

Certainly not a good weekend for UConn Athletics. Hoping for a MBB commit (or 2) to lessen the pain.

If Hurley fails I will strongly consider that our athletic department had a curse put on it.

Against the 4 best teams they have played this year (Notre Dame, Indiana, SMU, and UCF) UConn has been outscored 6-0. 0 goals in 385 minutes of soccer. (UCF game went to 2 OT's.)

Let me repeat that just for you to fully grasp it. 0. goals. in. 385. minutes. of. soccer. against. NCAA. level. competition.

UConn's chance of getting a buy in first round of AAC tourney clearly in trouble, as Huskies fall into tie for third place. SMU and Central Florida in a first place tie, with UConn in a tie for third with South Florida two points behind.

UConn's record is better than how they have played, and frankly, I'm surprised with all the tight games that it took them this long to drop another game after the losses to Notre Dame and Indiana. I'm inclined to think that Huskies are ok for making the NCAA tournament, providing they don't start a losing streak to end the season.

I saw a chunk of the UConn at Central Florida game online. Even though it was a tie, Central Florida looked like the better team. Like I said before, Huskies record is better than how they have played though this stretch. UConn has had a lot of luck in not dropping a few games through this stretch, and well, today it ran out. Just hoping it hasn't run out for the season.

Not good.

Not good.

For those who are wondering, Central Florida is 11 in the RPI right now, so at least UConn got a tie on the road against a very good team. While UConn may not be the best team in the AAC, a realistic goal for UConn this season was to return to the NCAA tournament, and hopefully make a little noise there. Like I said before, they should be in good shape for this unless things go bad starting in Tulsa next Friday.
