If Duke choked it was only because Houston's hands were around their throats.

From 3:03. when Duke went up 9 to 0:03 when Flagg clanged the front rim, Duke took exactly ONE shot, a missed bunny by Kon. They did make several FTs but whatever offense they got was what Houston let them get by fouling.

One shot in 3 minutes does not win games.
 
Maybe if Cooper chose to play for a winning coach like Dan Hurley this wouldn’t have happened

I won’t claim to be Mr Superunbiased or anything … but he bear hugs the Houston guys arm so he can’t reach for the ball. That’s a clear case of a disadvantaged player creating an advantage through illegal contact (ie a foul).

Found 1, I suggest going to about page 30 on. I see they talk a bit about their 99 team and of course were brought up. Never think it's a grand idea to have discussions of where to rank a current team to teams of the past just bad mojo in a game thread no less.

I really hope Florida wins the whole thing. Houston might hurt our chances of getting another look from the "best basketball conference," at least in the short term

IDK if it was a foul, but I've seen them called for less. You're taking your chances anytime you aggressively pursue an offensive rebound on a free throw like that.

Frankly, I didn't think it was the worst thing for Duke at the time. 59% career shooter staring down the barrel of a 1-in-1 in front of 60,000 people with a trip to the title game on the line? I thought the odds of him clanking that first one were at least 50/50. And then even if he makes it, he still has to hit the second one or you can hold it for the last shot.

A whole lot had to go wrong for Duke to lose that one. Boy, for as much grief as we give them, they've been on the wrong end of some brutal losses in this round. Imagine having to choose between that one, and '04, and the one three years ago vs. UNC? It almost humanizes them. Almost.
 
Duke had the ball up 6 with 47 seconds left. It wasn't the all-time epic choke but it was still crazy. Houston never should've been there but they were always there. I could see it happening in real time and then when Duke needed to make the shot I knew it would be what it was (make or miss.) Flagg is awesome but he has flopped in his three opportunities. Scheyer still sucks.

It was like the Cougars uniforms were trimmed in national flag blue...

It was technically the right call but it prolly should have been allowed to play on. That being said Houston was getting raped on shots all night with no calls.
 
Well, I thought losing to Florida was the only option. Thanks Houston! Now it’ll still be 6-5 in UConn’s favor.

They were up 14 with a few minutes and 9 with 1:25 or so. That’s not an epic choke?
