Two idiots in my section (one UConn, one Maryland) threw beers at each other and security came to kick both of them out. The UConn fan walked out on his own accord but the Maryland fan refused to leave - until more security came and escorted him out like a child.
I was basically surrounded by Maryland fans and one particular guy sitting behind me called several times for the Terps to "take out Napier's knee". I turned around and gave him a few choice words that would probably get me banned from this site.
Anyone else see it?
Two drunk dirtbag Maryland fans couldn't keep their mouths shut or their hands to themselves.
I was there, surrounded by Maryland fans, no fights in my section thankfully.
Where were all the UConn fans? Watching our 0-8 football team?
It was embarrassing being outnumbered like that when we are located a hell of a lot closer.
From what I heard UK fans were there last year in huge numbers, many more than Maryland had, but UK fans travel ridiculously well for those who went to Maui or Houston know this.Does anyone even know how tix were controlled? If it's a MD home game, they control the tix. Someone also heard that they subsidized the ticket prices for alumni.
I am getting bombarded right now by the BU Alumni Group for the BU-Cornell hockey game at MSG soon, and those tix are subsidized as well. This might simply be part of Maryland's 3 year contract with Barclay's. If you want to really compare it, look at how MD did against Kentucky at th same venue last year. Maybe Kentucky overwhelmed them and MD was embarrassed. Who knows.

My tickets were purchased through Barclays and the event was not sold out so as many uconn fans who wanted to go could. Barclays even released reduced price tickets before the event.
Hell of a lot closer? A is College Park and B is Storrs.I was there, surrounded by Maryland fans, no fights in my section thankfully.

The reason why people think it was a home game for them is that the arena scoreboards and ribbons were all Maryland oriented and the announcer was yelling for Maryland (arena announcer, not TV).
Yep, I was right there. The UConn fan next to me said something jokingly about how awesome Ray Allen is and the 2 scumbag Maryland fans behind started throwing punches. It got pretty out of control, I was there with my dad and just trying to keep him out of the line of fire.
Wait...I think maybe my wife and I were sitting next to you! Did your dad get doused with beer? Row 17, Seat 8-9?
TV was too... Len Elmore, Maryland grad. John Saunders, .The reason why people think it was a home game for them is that the arena scoreboards and ribbons were all Maryland oriented and the announcer was yelling for Maryland (arena announcer, not TV).
I didn't see it but was sitting with a bunch of Maryland fans. They were all quite nice, with one telling me he thought UCONN was the sleeper team this year for a the Final 4! Of course I splurged on the best seats I have ever had in the 6th row. My biggest concern was calming my daughter down after seeing Jake Voskuhl.Anyone else see it?

I was surrounded by Maryland fans in Section 24, and wasn't hiding my Husky pride in either attire or how I was cheering. After a UConn fast break dunk, I stood up and loudly cheered and then a few Maryland fans started chanting "safety school" at me. I calmly turned to them and said that UConn is ranked better than Maryland in the college rankings (UConn #57, Maryland #62) and that if they wanted to see Maryland with a lower number than UConn, they could just look at the scoreboard.
I didn't hear much else from the Maryland fans after that.
