Anyone here looking to get tickets to the 2026 World Cup ? I was looking to go see a preliminary match in NJ.

I'm a bit confused by the process. I registered on FIFA , but didn't see any updates. I read today that starting tomorrow there is a special registration for Visa card holders for a week, to be entered into a drawing for a chance to buy tickets. But, when will the actual tickets sales be?

In the terms/more details

For the VISA pre-sale
"After a randomised selection process, successful applicants will be notified via email starting from 29 September, and will be given a date and time slot to purchase tickets (subject to availability), with time slots starting from 1 October".

Then for non-Visa people
"Early ticket draw: A registration window is expected to be open from October 27 to 31. Time slot windows for purchase will be from mid-November to early December, FIFA said. "

No clue. They said it's a lottery and you will know by October if you've been selected. Sounds like you've done all you can at the moment.

Come to Mexico.
I'd imagine it will be even harder to get tickets in Mexico. Less games and more demand.

I was telling my sons that in 1994 they opened up the phone lines for ticket sales at 5:00 pm on a weekday (I remember I was at work). There obviously was no internet back then. I called exactly at 5:00 and a woman answered the phone immediately. I asked for 4 tickets to the quarterfinals in Foxboro, MA. She asked me for my name, address, and credit card information. Took less than 5 minutes and then I received my tickets in the mail. Saw Spain and Italy in a great match. I highly doubt getting tickets this time will be that easy.

The early package prices in Foxborough were outrageously expensive. But I think those were for all games or most games and also some VIP type benefits. If the single match tickets aren't quite a bit cheaper, I'm out.

An article I read said cheapest seats for the Group Stage games will be $60 (How to buy World Cup 2026 tickets: Prices, dates and everything to know). I'd imagine there won't be a lot of cheap seats and overall prices will be much higher. In typical FIFA fashion they haven't given any more information than that.

5 of the 7 games in Foxboro are Group Stage games. Below is the schedule for Foxboro. Matchups, dates and locations will be determined by the World Cup draw on December. 5.

June 13, 2026: Group Stage
June 16, 2026: Group Stage
June 19, 2026: Group Stage
June 23, 2026: Group Stage
June 26, 2026: Group Stage
June 29, 2026: Round of 32
July 9, 2026: Quarterfinal

Ok. The cheapest package for one seat was over $2000. So if they can land somewhere in the middle, I'm up for a match.

Those prices are for the hospitality packages. For people who want to entertain clients. I don't need that.

And free room & board in alligator alcatraz?

I registered for the early package. Once I saw the prices come out for those I figured I would not be going to any of the games. Hoping the individual games will be more reasonable. With games being played in Boston, Philly, and NJ I am willing to get tickets to wherever. It would be great if Portugal and Italy qualify as I will then have three teams to potentially play in this area, but I will go watch whoever.
