Stupid, stupid, stupid. Kids make dumb mistakes, but when you've got you're future riding on your actions while at UConn, it's hard to comprehend the BB gun thing. Ugh.

All three charges are in the "poor decision" category. In terms of the football team, both are redshirt freshmen. I don't recall their week to week involvement on the field, but they should be suspended for at least one game. Potentially more as the legal side sorts itself out. IMO, unless this is not the first breaking of team rules, I do not feel they should be dismissed from the team. Everyone deserves a second chance. It's the third and fourth chances where things get hairy.

Connor Freeborn is still on the team after an arrest this summer. Not sure if the severity of these charges make that tougher for these two.

This is not a good thing for the program and bad timing.

One of the strengths of Diaco is that he apparently doesn't allow for any funny business. So they should not expect much leniency.

I understand that students, athletes or others, come to college from diverse backgrounds. In these backgrounds may be exposure to crime. One would hope being at a great campus like Storrs would help them mature and evolve. Hope these young men continue to mature.
