Felt like Christmas again

Tempering my enthusiasm: While I am happy for the influx of new recruits, I wish that Cam had completed his eligibility at the RENT. A son of the Nutmeg State, it would have been a great story. Here's hoping that Coach Candle has identified & signed a more than adequate replacement...
 
I ‘m curious how much he is being paid by MSU for comparison purposes. No cap is death to the sport overall. As I look at a recuits bio, in my head I’m guessing how long we can keep them. It will be hard to mentally invest in an individual player going forward, but I’ll continue to focus on the larger UConn success. I’ll be more invested in the entire staff going forward, as they will, hopefully, provide some continuity.

Sub 10 100 yards is a solid HS sprinter
sub 10 100m and you are one of the best ever, will check it and get back to y'all

Kamren shows 6.91 60m #2 Michigan State Ch's, only shows an indoor season, no 100m. Comparable to a 10.80ish 100m

by comparison, Kashif Moore ran 6.87 his Junior year at UConn, was tied #3 on UConn team

So, he's pretty fast, maybe a bit faster than Kashif. Of course there is Track fast and FB fast. Significant crossover, but not a direct corollary

I believe HooperScooper(?) alluded to neighborhood of 500k?? Have no idea what we have and offer, another Yarder posted a going rate chart for different positions. Mainly a lot of speculation, I think some here have more info than others. I have none.

Jerry Rice ran 4.6 at the NFL combine. But he rarely got caught on a football field.

I hear what the OP is saying but I am not going to allow myself to get attached and sure players and coaches will all say the right things about UConn the program and fanbase. Let's not sugar coat it their all here to get better opportunities elsewhere, so it is what it is.

As long as I'm happy on Saturdays in the fall then you are bettering your opportunities. Since the NIL/ portal era is what it is, I will have less patience then I ever had before. I expect excellence every game not want but expect it.

Candle in year 1 im not cutting him any slack in this portal era. I expect to win 8 games at a minimum being a token 6-7 bowl team isn't good anymore not even for a 1st year HC here.

I don't think there is any football players who can run a 10s 100m. CT HS track history note: Lindy Remigino, long time Hartford Public track coach, won the 100m at the 1952 Olympics with a time of 10.4.

Relatively novice football fan here (mostly MBB) so this is a genuine question. What makes Candle’s transfers and recruits markedly better than Mora’s? It seems a lot of the transfers have limited on-field experience from what I’ve seen - are they more highly rated coming out of high school than a Mora recruit?

Looking at 247 Sports a similar proportion of last year’s recruits to this year’s are 3-stars vs unranked, and this year has a slightly higher average rating, but not a huge jump. Not tapped in to the world of football recruiting - what am I missing?

Without knowing anything else about them than their listed size, they seem a little larger on the line and linebacker crews, and taller on the receivers. If we’re lucky, they’ll be faster and smarter too.

Many had some pretty P4 offers out of high school.
 
Is there anyone in the boneyard who isn't blown away by this recruiting class so far? This is just nuts! Every day truly feels like Christmas morning. I know this year is the wild west, but this has to be the best recruiting class in UConn football history right? I was so down and out when I heard Mora was leaving, however, if I knew what was to come, I would have been elated! Candle may be the guy that finally takes us to the conference promised land!
