February General CBB Discussion Thread

When you beat a top 10 team on a buzzer beater, college kids get a free pass to storm, no matter the blood status. I don't make the rules.
Fair enough. It was a good game and a fun finish.

Unfortunate for us given we beat Illinois.
But what was really amazing was that Illinois took a timeout to set up their defense with 4.9 seconds left, up one.
And the defense turned out to be "let their best player drive straight down the court and hit a layup."
(Of course I exaggerate a little, but it was really shocking to see how easily UCLA scored.)

Our buddy, Aidan Mahaney is back in Hawaii since the Maui Invitational on ESPNU. I hope his time in Oahu is better than Maui. Will never forget how sad and despondent he looked after losing his starting job at the conclusion of the Memphis game.

OMG. That's a tough call on the inbound against Kentucky on Collin Chandler. Auburn scores go ahead basket on offensive rebound with 1.1 left

I hate watching ISU play.
Same - not must see TV. Josh Jefferson is a nice do everything player, and their big 3 can shoot, but collectively not a very exciting team.
Houston loss. Check.
Illinois loss. Check.
Iowa State? Tbd. Currently losing.
They've been pretty lousy on the road in B12 play, I could see them losing. Crushed by Kansas, lost at Cinci, at TCU.

only good teams can go into kansas and win by 16, you might have been able to do that if you had baba on your team.

Absolute bogus call led to the win. Called a push-off on a flop when he was dislodging a guy draped all over him.
Was a really well staged flop. I actually think the offensive player pushed too hard. As long as the defender isn't fouling him, he can drape all he wants. It looked pretty legit - he didn't have to shove to break off him.

Even in a meh season, there is not team I love see losing more than UK.

I'm impartial here but you said you wished someone else would set up a BY meetup just so you could punch this guy in the face. In his defense, his response was his best post ever as he very calmly called your bluff and offered to meet you any time. I haven't seen you respond so unless you PM'd him to take him up on his offer, maybe lay off the constant bashing of all his posts. You can't keyboard karate, punk out, AND go on bitching.
Oh I will definitely meet him ANY TIME ANY PLACE

It really was a bogus call. They wouldn't have dared call that if the game was in Lexington.

The drape is the foul lol. You can't have 2 hands on a guy like that, freedom of movement. Of course he had to shove to break off him, the guy had his arm curled around his back.

You can be draped all over the guy but as long as you aren’t fouling it’s ok??

That is literally the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard

Like you said in one of your posts, Joshua Jefferson is the former St. Mary's player UConn should have gotten. Having said that I am watching Aidan Mahaney on ESPNU and he looks like when he played at St. Mary's. He is the leading scorer so far in this game and he is very vocal. It's UCSB vs Hawaii.

I didn't see the arms wrapped around him.
