I focus on the way UConn is playing not on scores of other games. So because Michigan is playing poorly we should not pay attention to what we need to continue to work on
I love when people talk as if their fandom is key to the team’s success. It’s ok to check the out of town scoreboard once in a while

So I shouldn't be concerned how UConn is playing because another team, Michigan, is playing poorly. That's basically what he said and that's nonsense

Michigan on a 16-2 run. Down 2 with 9:26 left. They've looked dominant last five minutes.

This Nick Martinelli kid on NW is fun. Has a bit of Cam Spencer in him.

Martinelli is awesome

Want to see the worst P5 crowd ever for a conference game? Check out Stanford at BC on ESPNU. 2 crappy teams for a 9:00 game on a campus that couldn't give 2 poops about their men's basketball team. I don't think there are 1000 people there. Probably closer to 500.
LMFAO. After reading your comment I had to flip the channel there and see for myself. It's a far cry from 1997 when I went there for the UConn game and generally speaking the 90s.
I wouldn't go to Conte Forum for that game if someone paid me 50 dollars and free transportation. And I don't live that far from Chestnut Hill.

UM basically toying with this NW team - played like they didn't care for 25 then once they did, turned a 16 point deficit into a 12 point lead in like 5 minutes.

So many lobs from Mich, makes me miss 2022-2024
Yeah, when they are trying, they are a lot of fun to watch. They play above the rim. I also miss that - we are very much a below the rim team this year.

There is a Michigan board if you want us to help you find it. 😀

McDermott & Creighton hit a new low losing to DePaul on the road - he probably can't wait for this season to be over.

Good ole vertical spacing when you have a 7’
Yaxel is an interesting dude - looks practically non chalant until he needs to turn it on. Not sure I've quite seen a kid like that - a bit of a hot dogger in body language until it matters.

Mara can even pass like DC. Michigan is really built like 2024.

IDK about that - they have Mara who you could compare to Clingan, but Clingan was better. Then the make up gets very different. A spacing 4 in AK to a truly big 4 in Morez, who plays center when Mara is out. Yaxel & Steph are two very diff players. Cam would run circles around any of their 2's, and Newt was a big Combo PG to Cadeau being the more traditional small PG.

They would be an interesting matchup 3-5, but we'd probably beat them up 1-2. I think the 24 team is about as perfectly balanced a basketball roster as we've seen. They also dominated so many key categories that year, assists, rebounds, blocks, FG%.

Yeah there’s a lot of differences and I’d take Clingan over Mara for sure.

They have the makeup to be supremely bigger, faster, and stronger than everyone else in the country like ‘24 did. Even in this absolutely loaded year for talent.

Mara’s and Clingan’s #s are pretty similar with Mara actually averaging more bpg at this point.

Cling was a stronger player. I haven't watched enough to see how Mara influences drives in the paint regularly, players were scared to drive with Clingan in there.

But yeah - they have huge athletes all over. They are starting Burnett at the 2, but playing McKenney 25 minutes off the bench there. He's a strong 6'4", 225 kid. From a pure physicality standpoint, it's them and AZ. UM lacks some guard play, AZ lacks 3 pt shooting.

K State is in the Big XII and has done bupkis in its entire existence. losing to the lowly bearcats 91-62! Nothing about CR makes any sense. Jerome must be a short timer as his record had gotten worse by the year

Markquis Nowell not walking back through that door, Tang's run is over

I never saw Markquis Nowell play but he was K-State's leading scorer in 2023 at 5'7". dang

He was basically an entire offensive system by himself, led KState to a score away from reaching the Final 4

Yeah they had Nijel Pack who was similarly good in 2022 to help them be decent as well. Ended up playing against him with Miami in the tournament in 23

Michigan just abused Northwestern for the last 15 minutes. Wow.

Didn't see the first half since obviously was watching UConn. Don't know how NW even built that lead against them as they were outmatched and couldn't outside shots in the 2nd to maintain the lead. UM won, but they didn't cover either . Also the NW arena seemed to be like 35% of UM fans so it wasn't exactly an extremely hostile environment to play in .

The bottom line is any of these top 10 teams can be defeated if UConn limits mistakes, and maintains focus for the whole game by playing defense.
