Feb 1 AP Poll

Ohio State should be much higher IMO.

Mississippi State's only loss to an unranked team is to Alabama who is decent. They're borderline top 25 even though they've looked awful as of late.

Tennessee should be above both Arkansas and Kentucky. They handily beat both head to head and are 3rd in the SEC.

UCLA only two losses to the top 10. Also has a top 10 win (likely 2nd best win of the year) ... and they only are ranked 5th.

They're just a few points outside of 3rd place. They could easily climb to third next week and will likely jump to at least 4th this week depending on who wins tonight's match up between NC State and Louisville

Arky is up to #16. Tenn is up to #18

Miss State is still ranked.... that's a joke.
Seems like every team that plays UConn are moving up...win or lose. I'm with you on Miss State. I have said in previous threads, once a team is in the top 25...very difficult to get them to drop out.

So if we beat SC and NC State beats LVille we're #1 I dont think that SC is better the UConn or NC State.
We don't have very long til we find out. Let's both take care of business this week.

But who have they beaten?
They've played 6 top-40 teams. They are 1-5. It doesn't take much to do that. And yet they are considered #24.
They have a win over Georgia who has beat Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Arkansas so far and is ranked #25. It's not a super gaudy win, but it's a top 25 win nonetheless.

Teams in the 20-25 range usually aren't very strong and don't have good wins over ranked teams. Same logic can be used for DePaul who has 1 good win vs Kentucky and is 1-4 vs top 50 Massey teams--they're ranked #20. Or Indiana who is 1-4 vs. top 25 foes with their only decent win coming against Northwestern and they're 17th. Speaking of #22 Northwestern, they have 3 losses and their best wins are against unranked Iowa.

Arkansas, Kentucky, and Indiana ranked higher than Tennessee. Tennessee defeated all three of them.

My thought process on this, Arkansas, Kentucky and Indiana have been in the AP and Coaches polls since the Preseaon poll. As I eluded in one of my replies above (post #7) seems like once a team gets imbedded in the top 25's it becomes difficult to get them out. Tennessee showed up in both polls in week 8 (today's poll is week 11). The voters usually take their time moving a team in the poll and upward.

It's hard to get people to admit they were wrong. Try it on this board. And then there's the SEC/Summit thing that their coach has going for her. And finally, some of these voters don't have a clue as to who would replace MSST because all they look at are scores.

NO WAY Stanford is a Top 5 team. I have seen every PAC 12 team play and none of them seem to be Top10 material.

Oklahoma's men's team moved up 15 spots this week (from 24 to 9)

Best, toughest conference, top to bottom. A lot of top 10 teams wouldn’t be if they had to play in PAC-12.

You've got TEN teams better than Stanford or UCLA? I don't buy that for a second. Everybody has flaws this year and none of the other teams looks truly elite.
Suggestion : don’t feed trolls.
