Good defense tonight. I suspect Jana would want this one back. But I liked what I saw.

I suspect Geno will be glad to get the record over with. I am glad to see all the former players come back to support the program.

Next up Oregon State. I hope UConn spends their time preparing for Ole Miss though. Very dangerous team.

An odd flow to the game tonight. FDU was disciplined and handled the pressure well. With such a team of outside shooters, conventional wisdom would state that UConn would shoot a team out of playing it. For the second game in a row, UConn's offensive flow sputtered against the zone, partly due to missing 3's. Of course, Sarah finding her range (she reminded me of Azzi when she made four 3's in a row) helped immensely. It's hard to fathom that this is Sarah's 4th collegiate game. By the time she graduates, her name will be in the record books.

Paige can have an off night shooting (for her), but she made up for it in other ways. As long as she brings her "A" game against the top teams.

As others have mentioned, Ice is putting together consecutive impressive outings.

It will take Azzi a little time to find her sea legs after missing so much time. You could see she wanted to hit a "3" in the worst way.

Very nice to see Qadence hustle on the defensive end and take some looks before taking her first shot. She's got tons of potential.

While everyone associated with UConn program is happy for Geno/CD, I think Geno and the team is glad the record is behind them and they can concentrate on the season ahead.

The best thing I liked about this game was EVERY one ate. They all contributed. Kudos to SARAH for her best game yet with UCONN. Paige almost had a double-double and SARAH also. I thought Ashlynn started out on fire but she didn't maintain the start. Chen was productive and the total defense was superb .UCONN is now jelling and I say bring on the pretenders.GO FRESHMEN!!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!

I listened to the game and the post-game speeches, etc. on Uconn+. Does anyone know if the post-game video will be posted somewhere?

Our shooting wasn't anything to feel great about and still a 44 point MOV.

Didn't FDU look better than the stats showed? By quarter they scored 14, 8, 8 and 11. They never looked overwhelmed and didn't let UConn's pressure bother them too much.

Jana. She has shown she has a big up side but not in this game. That poor girl just couldn't do anything right, in front of all those former players. She'll get over it.

So Geno and CD got the record. When I started rooting for UConn I had no idea that year in, year out the would hardly ever lose. For like the next 30 years. I root for other teams that lose a lot so UConn is the one team that (almost) always gives me the thrill of winning. Thanks to Geno, CD, the assistant coaches one and all, and the many players that have given their all over the years to get all those wins.

They pressed a bit more this game and got a number of steals and effectively choked off FDU's offense. But they also made a few mistakes that led to open 3s. They'll smooth this out once they get a bit more practice on it. This is just another element that Geno inserted tonight.

Didn’t think UConn played that well- is that possible when you win by more than 40? The shooting was off; maybe it was nerves. It’s early in the season, people are still learning the plays, I’d like more dribble penetration. Q should get more playing time too- I like her energy. No one played poorly, but they missed a lot of shots.

Talking about the game seems a bit lame on a night like tonight. It certainly takes a backseat to history being made even though it was the reason that history was made. I would like to see less 3's and more drives to the basket. I guess the percentage from 3 will continue to rise and maybe my chagrin at all those deep shots will lessen accordingly. Ice keeps getting a lot of praise, but no one ever mentions her defense. It is way below average. Her opponent often gets open 3's, she is not great stopping penetration and when she is the help defender she is often a step or two late getting to a spot. I just would like to see her effort be equal on both ends.

I assume she is. My guess is she is blocked and on the floor next to Collier. Or is too short and is standing next to Stevens.

Geno inducted into the Old Goat's Hall of Fame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1,217 wins. Amazing!!!!!!!

As to the game, seeing the development of the tandem of Sarah and Ice. The high low game is only going to get better. They chemistry between Paige and Caitlin is there. The starting 5 is looking better all the time.

There is depth that is being developed. Very important. Jana will be fine. Had a bad game.

Azzi back on the court. She did fine, looked relaxed.

One last thought about Sarah: she's not quite as big and powerful as Aaliyah, though she's close. But her offensive arsenal just seems significantly more developed, and she's just a freshman.

Aaliyah worked at the midrange game and got really good at the 15 ft elbow jump shot. By her junior year she'd established this part of her game. And she got really good at driving the lane and the baseline.

Sarah already has those skills, the midrange game, the perimeter game, the drive down the lane. And she seems to be a better defender in some respects. She has really quick hands and gets steals and blocks in surprising ways.

I don't mean to diminish Aaliyah in any way, who was an awesome player and a very disciplined personality. She is admirable in all respects. Sarah is all those things too, and maybe a little more.

Glad to see Azzi looking so good. Other teams do not want to see UConn with a healthy Azzi.

This was a good team effort. All of the subs had their moments, and all of the starters played really well.

This team will be together by crunch time.
