Favorite Songs From Artists No Longer Alive

How about Jerry Garcia? He died a very old, very burnt out man aged 53 in 1995. He's obviously known for the Grateful Dead, but here he is with the Jerry Garcia Band (singing a great Dylan tune)
You bet Jack, I listed some Jerry in posts #151 and 152 :)

Davy Jones, Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork all gone from The Monkees - Mickey Dolenz only one left - not sure if there’s been previous posts

Bit of trivia Jimi Hendrix opened for The Monkees in 1967

Also Mike Nesmith quit the group I think sometime in the 1970s - another unrelated music note is his mother invented a liquid which allowed errors in typewritten documents to be corrected without retyping the whole document - I knew it as Whiteout - made the Nesmith family very wealthy

I was stationed at Fort Bragg at the time this was released. Lets just say it was one of the most liked videos by the guys in the MMC.
Yes, in 1975 (50years ago) when Lisa Leonard Dalton (19) performed her dance to "Hang on Sloopy" guys everywhere couldn't stop watching.

Always loved this song from Jimmy:

"Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred years too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late...."

Good As I Once Was

American Soldier (chokes me up every time I listen to it)

Sadly, everyone from this great group has "walked on"......
