Favorite Songs From Artists No Longer Alive

Gary Brooker (vox, piano, composing) died a few years ago, BJ Wilson (very underrated drummer) many years ago in his early 40’s. This cut showcases both of them. The drumming in the break is just breathtaking.

Amy Winehouse - Back To Black

I had both Amy Winehouse and Jim Morrison on my mental list, as well! Excellent choices! I probably would've gone with "Will you still love me tomorrow?" for Winehouse and maybe "Blue Sunday" for Morrison. "Back to Black" and "The WASP" (Texas radio and the big beat) would've been my next choices.

Selena Quintanilla-Pérez (Latin American Spanish pronunciation: [seˈlena kintaˈniʝa ˈpeɾes]; April 16, 1971 – March 31, 1995) was an American singer-songwriter. Known as the "Queen of Tejano Music", her contributions to music and fashion made her one of the most celebrated Mexican-American entertainers of the late 20th century.

This song has 498 M views. Unbelievable ...

I'd hope Kind of Blue is on anybody's short of the greatest jazz albums. I heard a spot on NPR for the 50th anniversary, in which they said it was still selling 6,000 copies a week. This cut is absolutely sublime and indicative of the understated artistry of the whole album.
