They had more passing yards, more rushing yards, but we had no turnovers and they had 2. That’s the difference. Was 24 seconds too much time? Yes, it was! The defense was bailed out by a their kicker, who choked.

There's a lot I can say about this game. But all I really have to say is this game came down to the wire because of our inability to execute defensively on 4th down. They scored 3 touchdowns off 4th down conversions, 2 of which were literally on the 4th down play (I still think it was a BS PI call on the 3rd, but that's irrelevant at this point.) Just inexcusable. They scored 45 points, but if we just execute on those 3 plays they likely only score 24. Let that sink in.

I will also say, that is probably the worst kick I've ever seen, lmao. The epitome of a choke job. We didn't deserve to win this one but I'll take it.

At the end of the day, we finished 9-3. Chance to get 10 wins with the bowl game. That makes me happy. Fingers crossed for a damn good bowl with a damn good opponent

I believe the last time we gave up so many yards was against Boise on national TV during RE2.0. That game didn't turn out nearly as well.
Props the FAU's QB, dude can absolutely sling it. But the difference between RE2.0 and Mora are night and day. This would have been a 70 point blowout loss under Edsall

Didn’t get a chance to watch. Nice to see 9 wins. But the D has not been good in may games. D line is soft. DBs give up ground. Not a good recipe for a defense.

The offense is very fun! The defense is very not fun!

Funny stat. If games lasted 59 minutes instead of 60, UConn would be 11-1. Not so funny after I type it out and think about it..

EDIT: ignore that, just realized it means today would have been an L lol

This is the first time UConn has ever won 9 games in consecutive seasons. We got there in the most frustrating way possible, but we got there. I’ll take that as a huge win and get excited to see if we can get 10 for the first time this century

I don't think it's a matter of them not improving. But I do think that we have matchup problems with certain offenses because we have certain deficiencies.

We held Air Force to a season low offensive output if I recall. We held Duke to 11 points less than FAU... that tells me that there's a matchup problem.

Let's hope that we can continue to increase NIL, continue to show folks in the portal that this is a place that can showcase them to play on Sundays, and continue to go bowling...
Well how we give away a 90 yd TD play on their 4th down from their own 10 yd line for goes beyond matchups. That was unforgivable really…. The fact they would even go for it just shows an unreal lack of respect for our defense….

We can be frustrated with Brock, but our D can be just horrible at tackling at times.

I swear that 400+ yards of FAU’s offense was a result of missed basic tackles, bad pursuit angles, and just plain bad basic defensive IQ.

I want to focus on the positives. This team could've folded after snatching a couple of losses out of the jaws of victory to start the season.

Nobody should've expected 9-3 after starting the season 1-2 and everyone would've signed up for it before the season started. Defense is downright putrid at times but this is the best offense we've ever had and people from football country no longer look at us as a joke. Our name comes up and people say they're actually pretty good/decent now and Mora has done a really good job. People outside of our little fanbase recognize the names Fagnano and Skyler Bell. No could've, should've, would've been 12-0...team is 18-7 the past two seasons which is a huge victory for the program.

That last defensive sequence where FAU gained like 60 yards in 25 seconds might be enough to fire Brock for cause.

Might be the PTSD, but I don't think a 3-3-5 defensive scheme can be successful if you don't have 5 stars across the board.

It can work if you have huge, nfl level dlineman…think Chris Nield at WVU in the pat white era.

We might have the worst DL in college football.

One thing I did forget to say in my initial post... Gotta show some love to Bell for that gritty performance. You could tell his knee was really bothering him, but he gutted it out and had another monster game.

I didn't think it was possible for him to earn more of my respect. He did today.

I know we're pissed and yes that was ugly but please stop pooping on Brock.
we missed in the portal.
you can't outscheme that.

and yes, he's responsible for his recruitment. So is Jim Mora.
They all need to do better on getting the pieces.
I maintain that if Brock is on the hook for these 4 away games that pissed us off, then JM is on the hook too. it's HIS team at the end of the day.

That game was equal parts wonderful and terrible.
Actually Joe’s last drive, Cam’s run and all those clutch players… I think we’re forgetting how epic that was.

They could’ve folded up quite easily there.

Joe could have tried to squeeze the ball into Skyler instead of over throwing him on purpose… interception/game over…

That drive (like our D of not) was one for the ages!

It’s the DL more than brock. I would give him another year. See if we can get some friends back who transferred to “greener” pastures.

A one point win on the road is blowout.

Geat final drive by the O.

I still want to punch Brock in the dick.
He's not the one missing tackles. But I guess he could recruit someone who could.
