Many on the Boneyard get so wound up about incoming players and their abilities that it is almost impossible for these kids to meet some folks' expectations. Then they jump on them when they don't. Makes me shake my head sometimes.

I'm sure that there will be those that give Paige a bad time if she has a bad day, just like they did Stewie.

You hit it. Go over to the recruiting threads and read how this or that HS player is a future 4 year AA or at least a starter at day one. Over the top expectations are part of fandom I guess but when they aren't met the reaction is often also over the top.
I forgot most of what I learned but that bit of truth from a sociology class stuck.

An hilarious statement that will last forever... hahaha ..... now part of UConn lore..
Along with; "her next offensive rebound will be her first" and "she can't guard a chair" - Of course those two ladies became our most recent AA. Perhaps Anna has some recognition coming also.

Even if she never starts she will contribute...I wonder if she plans to spend 4 years here?

Is Makurat slower than Maria Conlon?
A direct comparison is not a good question because players run faster today (I think. I could be wrong) than they did 15 yrs ago.
Well, Maria was short, but also slow... According to Geno LOL :D

Game is much faster & more physical than in Poland. It's obvious she is adjusting to this new pace. Questions are how fast can she get up to speed & what her ceiling is. Sveta faced the same issues her early years under Geno.

For the record, as Anna was adjusting to a new team, to college, to America, she hit only 2 out of her first 19 threes in 5 games, or .105. In the last 3 games, one of which she missed half of with an injury, she hit 5 of 9 (including a missed last second prayer) or .555 while leading team in assists, racking up 11 rebounds in one game, and grabbing a total of 8 steals in 8 games while seeing the floor better than anyone on the team. I don’t think there is a team in the country that would say no to this freshman. Why this is even a trending topic is beyond me.
