Evers is not even in the program anymore.
So is Evers is gone, Tucker is hurt, and Joe is out. Are we actually rolling with 1 QB? If he gets hurt so we revert to wildcat with Terrence Smith?

And as far as Evers, leaving the program, it kind of doesn't make sense unless he was planning to follow Mora to Colorado State. I mean he's all but guaranteed the starting job next year and it's not like someone would go and offer him more money because he hasn't been able to show anything really on the field yet.

How come Skyler didnt give a definent answer if he is going to play in the bowl game? I hope you have a great NFL career Skyler.

No chance Evers was all but guaranteed the job with a new coach coming in. Hopefully, Candle has a plan for an experienced QB to go along with Polston.

Disagree. He's not Candle's 'guy', and when a coach has the opportunity to come into a program tabula raza they usually want 'their' guy at QB.

It will either be the freshman who followed Candle to UCONN or a transfer; my money's on the latter.

IMO Evers should drop down to FCS. He threw 5 picks in 180 attempts before Fagnano took over in '24. From that point forward Joe threw five picks in two seasons.

So if your Evers, (who hasn't even entered the portal yet) why not show the world what you can do in the bowl game?????

More power to him. But one good game against a decidedly mid Army team won’t erase the stench of his shortcomings reflected in his time at OU, Wisconsin and at UCONN.

What an unappreciative lot we are. Fagnano is doing what is best for him.

Joe delivers us a great year and some are ripping him, saying he’ll never be a pro? Insinuating he’s a quitter? Cmon. You can be disappointed with class.
I appreciate everything Joe did during his career.
I don't appreciate his bailing on the university, the team, and the fans that supported him. Doesn't make him a bad guy because he isn't. I just think it's poor judgement on his part and a poor example that a lot of people won't forget. You never know when your last game is going to be.

My question is if the University aka State of Connecticut is paying these players why isn’t part of whatever agreement or contract that they are required to play in Bowl games or give some of the money back?? Seems fair.

If Joe is worried about getting hurt in the bowl game why did he accept the invite to the East West Shrine Bowl? That's my only gripe about the subject. Bail on the guys that got you there in the first place?

If you've been feeling a bit discouraged about the opt outs at our Bowl game--and want to feel good again about our program and the quality of players we've recruited--watch the Louis Hansen and Skyler Bell press briefings. These two outstanding guys are as impressive as any I've seen in those settings. If you've been wavering, get your tickets, spread the word, and let's go pack Fenway Park with lots of Blue and White.

Joe has a choice. Play in a low level bowl against 6-6 Army or go play and practice with a chosen group of players with NFL potential, with NFL coaching, in front of scouts from every NFL team. Everyone should take an honest moment for themselves and ask what they would and should do. He is not a guarantee but has built himself into the potential to make bank. One of those two choices helps him do that. They guys he plays with all get it, why can’t we??

Shrine bowl is late January. He couldn’t do both? Even if he only played a half in Boston like cam ward?

Not just tabula rasa but also a clean slate to get his guy in the QB room with Cabdle's QB coach.

Because none of the schools UConn is competing against for talent is putting that clause in NIL deals.

Was joking, but that was the last time he played. He got out of here as fast as he could, when he could have played.
Are you saying that it was Evers' decision to put Farrar in against FIU?
