That statement from UConn means nothing. They could have gotten a verbal from her without her mentioning the article, or maybe Adamec has spoken with her or one of her representatives and the article was mentioned. Why would UConn even ask about the article?

To me the article is most-likely factual and the writer simply jumped the gun about something that is well known to the player, her coaches and family & her soon to be former team. And in any case I doubt we will hear anything official till mid-April.
I completely agree. That was a carefully worded statement by UConn. They could have easily said she hasn't verballed or signed but instead they said they didn't hear from her about the article.....she's coming but one of the parties wants it to be an event.....

I think it’s fact-based too, but have no proof or confirmation. I have heard that Ezi likes UConn, but I don’t know if she likes UCLA or staying home even more.

UConn is starting the NCAA's and I believe she has a big tournament coming up so it may just be that both sides want to save it till those things are over and behind them.

From what I have gathered, Yup.
You and @Fairfield Fan are being killjoys! We are all feeling really good about ourselves and you’re raining on the parade. We feel this writer is absolutely, 100%, Pulitzer Prize winning, highest integrity scribe in the Southern Hemisphere who knows a friend whose cousin is married to a uncle who once sat next to Mr. Macbegor at 31 Flavors...so what he says is good by us!! :) Blame @Sluconn Husky for starting this...

On a serious note, I actually do feel pretty good about the quote as the writer has been heavily following the story for a while.

UConn by rule can't say anything until she has signed her NLI.

Not dissing A'ja specifically (I personally believe she's overrated, as is Kelsy Mitchell, Chennedy Carter to name a couple) but seeing how this is a UConn board, maybe compare her to a Husky.
Is there a husky to compare her to? I believe wherever she goes she will be an outstanding player but probably more outstanding if she commits to UCONN.

A slightly longer and leaner, but not quite as strong version of Tina Charles. Or maybe a slightly shorter Azura with less of an outside shot (Z’s 3-point shooting this year is an aberration).

Are we all jumping the gun here? Ezi has said nothing. UConn has said nothing. No confirmations to the press.

In other words, it appears that this is all idle speculation based on an aside comment in one newspaper.

Have I got that right?

IMO she is overrated also! Sometimes in WCBB players are pre-ordained for certain awards or given awards because of bias. I agree with you about Mitchell too!

I’m not quite sure who Ezi compares to, but as I said in another thread, what impresses me most is her remarkable fitness level for an 18 year old. Ezi is long, lean and ripped. That, plus her experience in the Aussie pro league will allow her to contribute as a freshman.

[Content deleted. Nice work, but the board operates on the assumption we are all boosters and cannot engage in direct appeals to recruits. - JS]

What about a taller Swin Cash? I've been trying to come up with a comparison too. Boston reminds me more of Tina Charles's game.

From the little I’ve seen, she is better defensively than either Tina or Z. More like Kiah Stokes.
