Expand Press Conference: USC vs. UConn Postgame - 2025 NCAA Tournament

Thanks for posting the pressers - thought both coaches were very good. (While I always feel sorry for the players having to answer their questions. )

I was just reading Gottlieb's wiki page, and notice something interesting - she has had a nice 15 year college coaching career, and has a .666 win percentage, and the following is not meant in any way as a knock on her, but ... she has lost 163 (164 now I think) games in her 15 years of coaching; Geno in his 40th year has lost 165 total games. - just a number beyond comprehension! That works out to just 4.125 losses per season for 40 years.

How pathetic is it that Connecticut can't send any local/state press to cover an elite 8 game?

The papers are all owned by big corporations now. The corporations will send someone from the state of Washington and put their articles on their internal software for all of their outlets to publish . That’s why you’re seeing exactly the same articles in papers across the country

Equally pathetic is when folks complain a UConn article is behind a paywall...

This.

To wit (thanks to "G00gle AI" which not acutally AI), "The Hartford Courant, Connecticut's oldest continuously published newspaper, is owned by the hedge fund Alden Global Capital, which acquired Tribune Publishing, the Courant's former parent company, in 2021.

It's a conversation for a far different forum, but the point above is spot on. Syndication is, not at all inadvertently, systematically eliminating local news concerns.

I only complain when somebody puts it up here and doesn't mention it is behind a paywall. I just swear under my breath, like this:

Pure class from New York's own Lindsay Gottlieb. Can't help but root for her and her program, as long as they come second to ours. ;)
Agreed. If anyone has not listened to her opening statement and her comments about Geno and UCONN I will just say you shouldn't miss it. See post number 1 in this thread. You'll be glad you did.

Here's UConn's press conference with Paige Bueckers, Sarah Strong, Kaitlyn Chen and Geno Auriemma:

The exchange at 6 15 - 7 00. minutes was golden. Lol. Sarah's reaction to Kaitlyn's answer. Then Geno asking her to clarify.
