I called the Connecticut DOT and was told that they have run out of the numbers 2, 0, 1 and 4 and the letter "N", but they ordered them and they go and check the PO box every day.

Ed said the snow plow guys knocked over a lot of signs on Route 201 and they used up all of those numbers pretty quickly. They don't know what happened with the "4"s and the "N"s, but Ed thought maybe someone put them in the wrong drawer or something.

They hope the numbers come any day because two guys who do that kind of work probably want to go on vacation with their kids when school lets out in June.

Actually, I heard through a reliable source that Otis, who typically handles the number & letter inventory, really tied-one on after the UCONN men won number 4 & he just can't remember where he put the stuff… Anyway, Andy & Barney are all over it so this should all be remedied sometime soon.

DOT is run by a bunch of Syracuse alums. They used 2,1,4,0 & 5 on 2014 25-0 signs that they sent to Syracuse Fans for their man caves to go along with their T-Shirts. I think Malloy ought to get to the bottom of this scandal.

They ought to just put up a sign with all the national championships and years listed. The good thing about doing it that way is by leaving enough blank spaces, you could just add the years of our future championships as they occur, without having to erect a new sign. The downside risk is the sign would have to be so huge to fit all the championship seasons on it that drivers would be distracted, causing accidents on the freeway.

I went by that exit on Friday and was surprised there wasn't a new sign already. In previous years it was up much quicker. I wonder what the hold up is.

I'd imagine the hold up is not with the guys who actually install the sign.
