Maybe we can hope enough rope has been offered for these big spenders to hang themselves, and they will blow up the whole NIL nonsense while they are at it. Hey, if someone offered Evers 6 million to transfer, I would shake the kid's hand and wish him well. That's life-changing money for him.

Part of me hopes that Evers has a Fagnano like experience at UConn. Last year pretty much everybody here was convinced we desperately needed quarterback help from the portal and there was a good size and vocal "anybody but Fagnano" contingent. Yet, Joe end up stepping up when it mattered in being the MVP of our first bowl win in over a decade. I love that Fagnano got a terrific ending to his college career and it would be great if Nick did as well.

However, most of me hopes that Welliver makes a quantum leap and is ready to play. It would dramatically improve our recruiting narrative, in particular in Texas. It would also be nice to have a quarterback that we all feel confident in.

Burton? Someone from Fairfield and Litchfield county has to have that kind of money with the ego to want to be the sugar daddy of UConn football. Maybe reach out to Steve Cohen owner the Mets and get some sweetheart deal to play a game at Citi Field every other year or something.
