It’s a done deal, aka we’re doomed.
I think this is the first time I've seen an uncommitted recruit with official pictures
Eve also posted pictures of her official visit to UCLA as well. From looking at pictures from both visits, it looks like Eve had a better time at UCONN.I think I remember getting pictures from Lara Somfai’s OV and she didn’t choose UConn so I’m not getting my hopes up. What has me excited though is the amount of current UConn players she’s following and are following her back
Found her twitter account

Hope she chooses UConn but she seems also very fond of Notre Dame. We will see.
It rarely works like that. These kids aren't nearly that shallow. Paige would have chosen ND if they were.If N.D. beats Vanderbilt and UCONN beats UNC.... Eve can make the

weekend. NICE!
Watched her the other night, didn't get a lot done, but she has all the tools, we want her BAD! Quick feet, really quick feet, super long arms, athletic and really looked like she wants to play defense. Exactly what we need.Whether it is her or someone else, it would be nice to get a tall, athletic type to counterbalance Olivia and Jana's type of size. Gandy could be this, but she is still an unknown.
This is the right profile, to be sure. But she also didn’t look as aggressive as we’d all probably like to see. This is a factor too. Maybe it will come once she gets to Storrs (wishful thinking I know) and spends a summer competing with some of the most competitive kids on the planet. And the best part is these hyper competitive teammates will love her like a sister.Watched her the other night, didn't get a lot done, but she has all the tools, we want her BAD! I think she wasn't aggressive because of the atmosphere of those kind of games, here she will have a role and it also seems like her offense may still be a work in progress. Great to hear. I am really hoping that Eve is a Husky!Watched her the other night, didn't get a lot done, but she has all the tools, we want her BAD! Quick feet, really quick feet, super long arms, athletic and really looked like she wants to play defense. Exactly what we need.

I'm hoping that UConn's recruitment of Lauren Hassell was more about Eve Long given a silent commitment during her OV and less about Lauren Hassell becoming independently disinterested in UConn.I’ll say ND.
Yeah. I don’t like that they got the last visit and she’s deciding a few weeks after said visitI’ll say ND.
I agree. It is interesting that Lauren Hassell, a long time lean to UCONN, drops them from her list of schools. We need to remember that Geno flew out see Eve the week of her official visit to UCONN. I am not saying, that Eve is definitely coming to UCONN but maybe she did give Geno a silent commitment on her visit.I'm hoping that UConn's recruitment of Lauren Hassell was more about Eve Long given a silent commitment during her OV and less about Lauren Hassell becoming independently disinterested in UConn.
Hmm. Interesting that he took a flight to double down on Long during that time period.I agree. It is interesting that Lauren Hassell, a long time lean to UCONN, drops them from her list of schools. This is a fact about Hassell's recruitment: she came to UConn for First Night in Oct. at her own expense twice in 2023 and 2024. She did not this last fall of 2025. She certainly had UConn interest but I'm not sure whether she had a committable offer or not. IMO it seems her interest in UConn was high enough that if she had one, she would have taken it before the Long recruitment heated up. I believe UConn's recruitment of Long turned her away. As for Long, I think she has a lot of potential but ND and UCLA (twice the distance from home) have the quickest path to early PT.I'm hoping that UConn's recruitment of Lauren Hassell was more about Eve Long given a silent commitment during her OV and less about Lauren Hassell becoming independently disinterested in UConn.

Was that after UCLA and/or just before her visit to ND? (I truly don't know...).
Long made her visit with Kaleena Smith and her part of hit was a lot more low-key. I can tell you Ms. Long has been a key focus for Coach Ivey and Coach Owen, the Irish Posts coach, in terms of time, effort, etc. Given the nature of all three programs, I'm sure they have what it takes. Stay tuned.
Yes, the Hassell's loss of interest and Eve Long's OV could be entirely unrelated. Reading tea leaves isn't entirely an "exact" science. This is a fact about Hassell's recruitment: she came to UConn for First Night in Oct. at her own expense twice in 2023 and 2024. Au contraire. It once again demonstrated that Geno protects his players. It could conceivably hurt the recruitment of new assistant coaches. But otherwise, I don’t think it registers negatively among the athletes. If she chooses ND it’s because she likes something about their program and is interested in playing with Hannah. If she chooses UConn it will be because she likes Geno’s program and wants to play with Sarah and Blanca… and KK and Kayleigh and Olivia and Ash and Morgan and JovanaGot to think ND here. The Final 4 geno meltdown didnt help us folks.
isn't Hannah going to be gone by the time she gets there?Au contraire. It once again demonstrated that Geno protects his players. It could conceivably hurt the recruitment of new assistant coaches. I believe that Hannah will be a senior this coming season. So she will not cross paths on the court with Eve.Au contraire. It once again demonstrated that Geno protects his players. Good catch. Then, if not Hannah, who will she look forward to playing next to at ND?I believe that Hannah will be a senior this coming season. So she will not cross paths on the court with Eve.
And she wouldn't be playing with Arnold and Shade at UConn either.Au contraire. It once again demonstrated that Geno protects his players. Well...KK and Ash are going to be granted an extra year of eligibility with the "5 for 5" rule. An opportunity I would expect them to make use of.And she wouldn't be playing with Arnold and Shade at UConn either.
To explain my comment more fully. Under the "5 for 5 rule" which is expected to be passed, a player will have 5 years to complete 5 years of eligibility. So if you were KK Arnold or Ashlynn Shade (or anyone currently in college who didn't use a redshirt) -- you would be granted a 5th year of eligibility and capable of playing with Eve Long.Well...KK and Ash are going to be granted an extra year of eligibility with the "5 for 5" rule. Time will tell but I wouldn't assume that most players if given that opportunity would take it. There are many factors here, and we have some precedent with how players took advantage of the Covid extra year. I don't recall specific numbers on that, but my impression is that most division 1 players moved on with their lives. Of course the vast majority of those did not have realistic professional aspirations, even in Europe, and they also were not playing for a true contender. Most also were likely not that interested in pursuing a master's degree that an extra year would put them partway to.To explain my comment more fully. It is also possible that they will seek to move to the WNBA anyway, but the option would be open for them to return.
