2027 Recruiting: Eve Long

Great Geno true story! I read this I think in the Courant!
Kia Vaughn was a highly rated HS player thought to be a definite UConn signee and a couple of days before signing day Kia's Mom called Geno and reportedly asked what Geno was going to give Kia to go to UConn!
Geno reportedly replied "Rutgers is looking for a big girl," and hung up!
Signing Day Kia signed with Vivian/Rutgers!

Another true Geno story!
Freshman Marci Glenney from NFA HS in CT was a freshman G for UConn and because of some injuries played a lot of games at PG and after the season her Dad gave Geno a call saying Since Marci did so well she should be starting next season!
Geno said "We don't book in advance at UConn!"
Marci transferred to Clemson!

@RSHERMVIKES, nice stories, but what does this have to do with Eve Long?

I am not usually like this when looking at the standard recruiting photo ops, but imagine putting those trophies in front her to dream about reaching for in a UCLA uniform when her next stop is UConn.
Seems like a dubious strategy compared to Uconn. Of course it is generally discouraging when you see a potential recruit in another team's uniform, but it happens quite a bit with players going elsewhere. On a more optimistic note, I think her words with the post were very brief and business like, with no gushing comments about an incredible visit etc.

Looking forward to seeing what she posts about her visit with UCONN tomorrow. I am not sure how long official visits last now. It used to be a Friday afternoon/evening through Sunday afternoon. If that’s is still the case, then Eve will get to experience a game day atmosphere, and this game will be electric due to this being a NCAA tournament game.
She may have been at UCLA for a couple of days for her official visit but this, I would imagine, will feel different. She is stepping into the Basketball Capital of the world, watching the team practice and then the game itself, could go a long way to securing her for the 2027 class.

If we want to get to that level her "Go Bruins???!!" has more question marks than exclamation points 😉.

Is Eve sitting in front of Stewie at today’s game?
