"I'd love to win a national championship," said Turner, who has narrowed her potential schools to Baylor, Notre Dame, Connecticut, Duke and Stanford. "That would be like a dream."

Well she sure picked the 5 best to look at. Still no idea why the coaching staff seems to have "cooled" off on recruiting her.

If Brianna Turner wants to win a NC I applaud her selection of schools.....Each certainly could win a NC over the next three(3) years. But the graduation of Griner at Baylor , and Diggins at ND , really hurt their chances more than the graduations of Dolson and Hartley at UConn....UConn will still have Stewie , Tuck , MoJeff , Banks , Stokes , Chong, and Ekmark on the roster . Thus I think her addidtion to UConn will increase her chances of winning that ever elusive NC .... No one else on her list can boast of such deep talent to help in the NC quest.

Hopefully , she and Geno hit it off and re-warm to her coming to Storrs. She would be a great addition.

With a 36" vertical , I would love to watch her play at Uconn and dunk. Anyone remember what Maya's vertical jump was?

28" is the first thought that comes to mind. I cannot reference it, so do not hold me to it,

Just some of my thoughts on Brianna. She played with MoJeff. Shes friends with MoJeff. UConn has the best chance of winning a NC the next couple of years. If we make a good showing this season and next and shes still friends with MoJeff we imo have a good shot at her. I dont think we will have much competition if we stay healthly the next two seasons.

She sounds like a UConn-type kid.

With a 36-inch vertical she plays not just above the rim, but halfway up the glass. She and Gabby Williams can take turns jumping out of the gym.

Its great to dream, but realisticly what are our chances of landing her?

Hate to say it but odds are she is Baylor bound.

I think so too; but I also think it's a good sign that she only has 1 Texas school, so distance doesn't appear to be a huge factor. I think we still have a shot, but it's hard to beat a home-state NC contender.

Baylor is rebuilding beginning next season and UConn is reloading next season so I have to wonder how much she wants to win a NC and play in more then one FF with the chance to win mulitple NCs. Another point all every single UConn game is televised so there isnt a problem for her friends and family to watch her play every game and tape them and watch them again just like many of us do. So I would think thats a big plus for her coming to UCOnn.

I disagree. If a NC is important to her, Baylor will not be a NC contender once Griner and Sims are gone.

If you're questioning it, me too. I'd buy 30" but 36" is a male number--or maybe Gabby Williams.

The only vertical I've ever heard of a female player was former Duke guard Jasmine Thomas... remember reading it on some h/s scouting site... 32 inches.

it's very high but there are few out there - I know Armintie Price is well into the 30's" and a few others, too. IIRC, our own Lorin Dixon had a higher vertical than Maya as well, though I don't recall the figure. But regardless, a 36" vertical with a long athletic frame like Turner has? That implies some amazing potential. Wow.

EDIT: LD vertical leap measured at 33.7"

Thanks, Mike, I was going to mention Lorin's vertical. She was indeed a sky walker.
