Laying off low level people - get your contracts done soon...

UConn's perfect straight of disaster in conference realignment likely continues...

A) "We think we can make a good case and have some serious discussions with ESPN," said Aresco, who wants to renegotiate the contract within the next three years.

Annnnndddd.....

B) Disney has notified ESPN to trim $100 million from the 2016 budget and $250 million in 2017.

Short term yes. In a few years isn't ESPN going to dig into why they are paying a school like Wake Forest 8 figures a year?

No way to treat your cash cow.

The way Tessitore was jacking up the AAC and the game last night, I was very skeptical. It felt like some bean counter at ESPN figured out that the delta between AAC and ACC viewership (read commercial revenue) less the delta between AAC and ACC rights fees came out to a net gain on showing more AAC games.

The ACC fees are sunk costs through 2025. ESPN gets no benefit from playing up the AAC over the ACC, unless fans actually believe that. More likely the announcer is assigned to the AAC and his personal compensation depends on people watching his games.

They're already paying the rights fees.

They can't save money by showing the AAC.

If you're paying team A & B a combined $36M a year and team C & D about $3M per year, you promote A & B.

But isn't it true. Are games cost ESPN near zero bucks rights fee + production costs vs a real rights fee + production costs. Our ratings are probably 60 70% of the typical ACC game

Isn't Skiblets another boneyarder with a 'cash wash' like source for UConn positive CRA news? If so, he's permitted to say whatever he wants. He's seen sasquatch, an alien, the pearly gates of heaven.
