Not to bring up the past but to illustrate how important this current system is: If Kevin Ollie had NIL money to pay Daniel Hamilton for his junior and senior years, Hurley would probably be coaching at Providence now. DHam had to worth 6 wins a season. And with six more wins per season, Ollie gets to stick around for ClingKong to arrive from Bristol. Instead Hurley, who was going nowhere, used NIL money to sign Newton......

Double digit rebounding plus assists and the lobs to Brima buys Ollie enough wins not to be fired..Hamilton was MVP of AAC tournament. Hamilton was a great sophmore player.

No chance, things were terrible back then. Ollie was done here and nothing was saving his job. He made big mistakes and the people closest to him made big mistakes. Nothing was handled well. Time for everyone to forgive and forget. As bad as things got the championship in 2014 was remarkable and that team and Ollie deserve more credit for it than they've gotten.

Hamilton legit hated actually attending school he came very close to leaving after his freshman year

Demary and Ross is 2 plus the other Ross and Ball would make 4. When he says tough decisions he’s prob referring to Mullins (nba), Stew (could be a starter elsewhere) and Furphy (could get more PT elsewhere).

Furphy, the other Serb, we have no idea.

He referred to "people" so multiple players having to make a tough decision. I'd think that is Mullins, and I would think Stew might be included in there. So it's Solo, Ross, Demary, Fuphy, Serb (Junior)?

If Furphy was going, you'd think he'd be in the portal by now.

Kinda interesting to think about - if DHam comes back in 2016-17 and we are an ncaa team with Adams-Purvis-Hamilton-Brimah, Ollie maybe gets a pass on one bad year in 2017-18, and Hurley is somewhere else. But we sucked two straight years. Throw in Daniels leaving early when he wasn’t an nba player and we probably make it in 2015 too.

After the 2016 season, I was salivating at how good Hamilton might be if they locked him inside Werth and made him shoot jumpers for a few hours a day. I was thinking 18-10-5 a night as a junior.

A lot went wrong those years. Still hard to believe how bad it got that last year. Players who shouldn’t have been within 10 miles of a UConn uniform barely putting up a fight some nights
