Ear Bandages

Question: Why do so many of our players wear white ear bandages during practices/scrimmages, but not during games? I know they cannot wear earrings during games, but do they just not want to take them out daily?

As you are aware, NCAA rules prohibit wearing of jewelry in games and taping over earrings or other jewelry is not permitted when playing as the tape can easily come off during play creating a hazard to the wearer and other players. This rule is followed by schools for practices, however there may be situations where the piercing is new and not yet healed or if not new the player may want protection and with permission from a coach a bandage can be worn over the piercing (of course removing the earring or jewelry) during practice sessions.

I noticed in a picture of Caroline during a practice that she had the upper portion of an ear (left?) taped up. In another picture or video this season, she wasn't wearing taped but clearly had at least three earrings in her ear in the same spot, so...

Great to see Caroline suited up. Even though she’s not playing in games, at least she can do some of what she loves.

what is that on her ear? seriously, i'm not knowledgeable on this.

it is nice to see her participating. we wish her well, and the best in 2025.

Caroline Ducharme often has the white tape on her ear like these two players. Is it to cover ear piercings? If so, why not just remove the earring?

I seem to recall some kind of tempest in a teapot thing about a player - Notre Dame? @Dillon77 - that has some issue with an ear piercing, or am I misremembering?
