2026 Recruiting: Dylan Mingo Decomits from UNC

I think he's planning to go somewhere with his brother as a package deal. I don't think we have two spots for them, so don't see this happening. We could sure use a point guard though and having Demary mentor Mingo for a year would be ideal.

We have 15 scholarships.

If indeed he wanted to be a package deal and Hurley wanted him, I promise that we would have room for him.

We have enough left over after recruiting ends every year to invite random Euro players over for a UConn year abroad.

hurley ain't gonna deal with people demanding a package deal or some shit. nonstarter

We are Uconn. Minutes are won in practice. Welcome to the puke buckets.
Doesn't change the fact that if Demary is back, Mingo isn't coming. He likely sees himself as a one and done. Those guys aren't coming off the bench, they want to be showcased.

Conversely, if Mingo commits, that would mean _____________________________?? (Don't fill in the blank!!)

Yes, we all know the rules here. Or at least those of us who've been here for ages.

15 scholarships and 40 minutes, unless we're losing multiple guards who were starters this year then they're not adding the Mingo bros

His older brother Kayden is also on the market. Cheaper and may stick around for a few years.

Is Dylan Mingo a 1 and done level player? Don’t know enough about him.,

Mingo is currently injured. His second injury this year. Its unclear if he will be available at the beginning of the year. And then he may go in the draft. So it doesn't seem worth it to pursue him.

His brother committed to Baylor, let's see if he follows him. Baylor was on his original list. My guess is he does.

Not sure where he goes in the draft. So much of it depends on who holds out for that draft in this years crop. There are likely ten players that could go well ahead of any of these incoming freshmen.

Once all the pieces confirm, we're good

C'mon Huskies, please, I'm begging youse

Baylor should have a good team next season.

Anyone? Anyone?
Likely, but no one knows. He's been hurt. Next years class may will up with a number of players waiting out next year. Already see a number of them popping up, like Mullins, Ngongba, Anderson.

Then there are some players that may benefit, wanting out of school and get bumped into the first round this year because of the vacancy left - weird year. Kid like Meleek Thomas for instance - was considered fringe first, but if 5-8 kids run it back for NIL, maybe he slides up. Next years draft may not be that week if enough kids hold out for it.
