Duke Post Game Thread

There's just so many great videos and this may top them all. Hurley's mom dropping bombs, his dad not realizing what just happened and then dropping bombs and the awesome dude behind them losing his mind...

Have we ever seen Bob Hurley Sr. smile? Lol. I'm not sure he even did after the back to back national championships.

has it been discussed why Cayden Boozer had a big blood stain on his jersey when speaking with the media postgame? it didn't occur during the game...

Normally I can't stand Oprah's BFF, but at least Gayle King is showing her CT roots being hyped for UConn.
There is a great deal of excitement here in Central Florida for the potential launch of Artemis II on Wednesday. It was nice to see Dan join the fun by talking to an astronaut today.

And over at SJU they think they softened up the pukes for us. the best is that the pukes think they got jobbed by the refs.
I rewatched the whole game this morning. In the first half alone there were ELEVEN calls that were either questionable or outright bad calls that benefitted Duke. They can take that crap and stuff it.

I don’t know how to read this, please splain.

No worries, the "NetRtg" is essentially the same thing that KenPom calculates and uses to rate team offense and defense. The points the offense scores gets indexed to 100 possessions to standardize. The points the defense allows, the same representation.

NetRtg is the difference between Offensive Pts per 100 (scored) - Defensive Pts per 100 (allowed)

Each site adjusted those numbers for pace of play, the strength of the oppenent, a "luck" factor (did the team have a very hot shooting night that deviates from their average?), etc.

HoopExplorer NetRtg generally tracks similar to KenPom NetRtg, but they will be slightly different.

But can think of it as apples-to-apples comparison, just 2 different varieties of apples.

So, look at the circled NetRtg stats:
JRoss-NCAAT-On-Off.jpg

When JRoss has been in the lineup, our team has had an Adj NetRtg of +51.7. When he's not in the lineup, we are at +30.8. The offense is more efficient (139.2 AdjPts/100 vs. 134.5 Adj Pts/100), but the defense is really different (87.5 AdjPts/100 vs. 103.7 AdjPts/100).

When you look at the overall NetRtg in KenPom, you can see that the "elite" teams have overall NetRtg in the 30-40 range. Here's up-to-date KenPom:

Of course, it's not all due to JRoss, but the point is that he's really helped our O and D to step up in the NCAAT.

JRoss lineups have been very elite.

Anybody know who the big guy in the red sweatshirt is all the way to the right?? Family??

First glance I thought it was Rudy but it didn’t look exactly like him and the video I saw wasn’t great

Im sure this has been said already, but it's a long thread. Braylon did not know his 3 put UConn ahead.

He thought he had tied the game.
