No worries, the "NetRtg" is essentially the same thing that KenPom calculates and uses to rate team offense and defense. The points the offense scores gets indexed to 100 possessions to standardize. The points the defense allows, the same representation.

NetRtg is the difference between Offensive Pts per 100 (scored) - Defensive Pts per 100 (allowed)

Each site adjusted those numbers for pace of play, the strength of the oppenent, a "luck" factor (did the team have a very hot shooting night that deviates from their average?), etc.

HoopExplorer NetRtg generally tracks similar to KenPom NetRtg, but they will be slightly different.

But can think of it as apples-to-apples comparison, just 2 different varieties of apples.

So, look at the circled NetRtg stats:

When JRoss has been in the lineup, our team has had an Adj NetRtg of +51.7. When he's not in the lineup, we are at +30.8. The offense is more efficient (139.2 AdjPts/100 vs. 134.5 Adj Pts/100), but the defense is really different (87.5 AdjPts/100 vs. 103.7 AdjPts/100).

When you look at the overall NetRtg in KenPom, you can see that the "elite" teams have overall NetRtg in the 30-40 range. Here's up-to-date KenPom:

Of course, it's not all due to JRoss, but the point is that he's really helped our O and D to step up in the NCAAT.

JRoss lineups have been very elite.
Great remembering he still has another year of eligibility.

Seth Greenberg asked the ref Roger Ayers what happened between him and Hurley at the end of the game because people are talking about it. Roger Ayers didn't even know what Seth Greenberg was talking about.
I hunted for a tweet/video/anything on this and found nothing. Can you share source? I have some (non Uconn) college friends I need to shut up.

there's a segment of deranged fans(haters?) who have this caricature of hurley in their minds and think he's some kind of psycho, and the media runs with it so you have this normalization of delusion.

Did somebody post at halftime that the Moneyline was something like UConn +2200? I didn't know you could even bet once a game started.

The clock doesn't start until the ball is inbound. That's why sometimes at the end of the game you see a player roll the ball rather than toss it to someone. it doesn't start until the ball is touched in bounds.
Demary did this a couple of times early in the second half (which is unusual but very heady of him. Time was our biggest enemy). Those few seconds counted. Extended the game just long enough for us to take the lead.

Hmmmmm, Hurley did kind of lose his mind when late in the 2nd half, a ref called a foul on Duke for grabbing Tarris before the shot.

Tarris was all alone under the hoop for an easy 2.

Of course Tarris could not convert the 2 free throws.

I thought one of the unheralded plays of the game was Alec Millender rushing out onto the court after Mullins 3 and then quickly realizing there were still 0.3 seconds left and quickly retreated back to the bench holding others back. Can you imagine if the UConn bench had gotten a technical foul at that moment. I don't even want to think about how I would have reacted. Goes to show, even a guy who never saw the court played a role. I'm half joking of course but in all seriousness, what would it take for a bench technical in that situation?
Play was already blown dead though. Unless I am misunderstanding how that works?

They're talking about this headtap moments after Mullins' shot. Wasn't in malice but the Hurley haters are giving it legs.

But if Duke took the 5 seconds violation, it would be UConn ball. Thanks! I just won $1 from the hubs.. Drinks on me!
PS...he's an Ohio State grad. I told him to stick to football.
