Duke Post Game Thread

That shot ended all conversations about us not being a blue blood program.
We won the bracket that had UCLA, Kansas, Mich. State , St. Johns and Duke.
With us beat 3 of them.

What a win.!!!!
we actually beat all of them 😉

Idk if you watched the post-game presser, but AK reflects on this directly. Mentions how Boozer was defending him pretty close but he saw Braylon in rhythm and knew it was a better shot.

He did.

Everything that happened there was brilliant. I've no idea why Scheyer wanted the ball pushed up court, but he did and his team tried. Silas's defense, Braylon grabbing it and getting it to Alex and then both of them being absolutely dead calm in the next two seconds. Braylon likely expects Alex to shoot but he still steps in to be available. Alex seeing Boozer and realizing that any shot will be heavily contested passes it back out.

Game was as slow for them there as it might have been in the opening minute.

I know some people don't like him, but I have appreciated Jay Bilas' commentary and also him calling game as the analyst. In addition to that he was great to speak to in person at Maui.
His commentary on this game nailed it.

I know some fans here revel in the suffering and agony of defeat of Duke and that's fine. I don't get an ounce of pleasure from seeing their players crying and hurting and seeing the pain on Jon Scheyer's face or their players' face.
I get satisfaction and pleasure from watching the jubilation and pandemonium of the UConn players and coaching staff from the victory and knowing these guys worked their arse off and gave blood, sweat, and tears for this hard earned and well deserved Final Four.

Gonna make this into a Tshirt :)

You're a better person than me. And I'm OK with that.

Much like 2014 Michigan state, I took a shower at half time to wash off the first half stink. I said to myself while thinking of that rough first half, that 2004 Duke/2014 MSU IS HAPPENING again. I also thought of msu could come back from 19 down two days ago no reason UConn couldn't. I'll be sure to hold off on showering on Saturday till half time.
That is mandatory.

LOL, I don't know if I am better than anyone. When Mullins hit that shot I shouted so loud I think I woke up the dead from the cemetery down the road. The endorphins and the synapses in my brain were on overload and I am still thrilled about this win that will last in March Madness lore long till we have all passed.

Having said all that to describe my elation, I am much more pleased for the players than myself especially for the roster outside of Karaban, Ross, Stewart, and Ball as the other players have never been to a Final Four. This is what Tarris, Silas, Malachi, and Millender had in mind when they transferred here to UConn and this is what Riebe and Mullins had in mind when they chose UConn as well as Paunovic, Jacob Ross, Furphy, Koroma and Elezaj . I could not be more pleased for those guys for them to indulge the spoils of victory and enjoying the party and carnival of the Final Four.

I loved Raffterty's reaction as he was in total shock and looked like he was about to pass out. Grant Hill you could see the dejection but he rebounded after getting over it pretty well after slamming the table. LOL!

Seen some Duke fans taking the position that Hurley was dumb for not fouling and that it was just luck that it worked out.

Hurley can be seen telling the players to foul "Sarr or Patrick" before the second free throw by Demary.

And then when the ball goes back to Sarr, Jayden Ross basically does foul him, but the ball is already gone by then and it's pretty much lost in the chaos.
