Duke Post Game Thread

What a night at my house. Four generations here for a game watch and cookout. My house being full of people I love enjoying one another’s company, one in a wheel chair, one just learning to walk, and all pulling for the Huskies. Some of us are Husky fans, some just love a Husky fan.

The comeback was coming, we were chipping away but we kept coming up short. The beauty of it was that above the noise, the watching the baby, the talking about school, work and health problems, there came a moment with 30 seconds left when everyone gained focus. It wasn’t just here in my home, but on the court in DC. The comeback somehow had genuine legs. We felt it because even the 80+ year old non-fans were watching and hoping. I had 21 people in my home and every single one lost their mind when Braylon hit that shot. Unbelievable. For me to have shared that moment with both of my parents so many years after watching Tate George hit The Shot with them was something special. They don’t have too much time left. It was just a great night to be home and be a Husky with my tribe.

Reminded me of the 2004 matchup. Uconn struggled for most of the game but made a run with 3 minutes left
I was thinking the same thing, Down 75-76 with 3 minutes left we went on a 12-3 run to break their hearts in the Final-4 march up. Emeka had a memorable offensive rebound and putback.

Since the Laettner's buzzer beater against us, we keep on paying them pack over and over again. This one was extra special. It never gets old.

Best part of this video is Bob Hurley Sr. from the 1:55 mark on. He doesn't know what just happened, then he almost gets knocked over, and he's trying to find the scoreboard. He finally realizes Braylon's shot just won the game and he says, "Holy s^^t."

Was that Rudy Gay in the red sweatshirt behind the bench?

That entire video is incredible. This is the first chance I've had to really dive into it and watch it in full.

Bob Sr. also said "we just f'in won" lolol

I just rewatched the shot for the 40th time. 3 Duke players handled the ball on the last possession. So why are they blaming the last guy Boozer? Any one of them just holds it to go to the line. Poor coaching and he needs to own that not the players.

Hope Duke fans do Cayden Boozer right. The kid was obviously crushed listening to him after the game. He had a costly turnover, but Dookies need to remember
if he didn't step up in the earlier rounds, they don't make it this far. I hope their fans remember that. He's still a freshman
and he made 1 mistake, that will be remembered for a long time. I hope their fans remember all the good he did in the
previous rounds.

He got punched in the face by your pregame hrdon for him

EDIT: Today I learned if you type out the real spelling of hrdon it autocorrects to Superjohn.

True story, I have no comment or opinion on it either way, just sharing info for future generations.
Wow this funny!

Fact: UConn led twice in the entire game. On the first basket and the last basket.

Opinion: This is the biggest shot in UConn basketball history, because a buzzer beater to get to the final four is the second biggest shot that's possible to make, in the tournament that defines every program's legacy.

Alex is the first player with 3 final fours since Shane Battier in 99-00-01.

The 3 he hit down the stretch, after being cold from the arc, saving the ball from going out of bounds plus giving the last shot up to Mullins was the type of play you get from a championship senior. It was the opposite of what Duke had on their side of the floor.
Duke didn't made the FF in 2000 so AK has the more FF then Battier.

What a moment for UConn Nation…I still cannot believe it happened.

Reed continued to be a stud, Karaban showed true senior leadership when we needed him the most, Malachi once again showed incredible toughness like he did two days ago and a recovering Demery was clutch on both offense and defense when it truly mattered. We were 1 for 18 for the game and then when we most needed it we go 4 for 5 including a 35 foot dagger from Braylon to seal an incredible win.

Thank you to the entire team and coaching staff…you gave us the memory of a lifetime.

I think we have an official big time rival, now they know it and have to admit it.

And it ain’t St. John’s, Providence, Syracuse or Villanova.

Absolute stone cold guts coming back in that game. Karaban and Mullins couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat.

Until they had to.
To me our biggest rival is Duke, always will be. Tonight I would think they hate us worse than North Carolina.

I have now watched Mullins make that shot literally hundreds of times

Every time I think I’ve seen it enough, I let it pay again. So much fun to study the room as it unfolds.
