Malachi freakin’ Smith. What an absolute tournament from that dawg.
Reminiscent of Rudy Johnson in the stupid loss to Florida in what, ‘94? When the whole team was too fraidy scared to shoot, someone from the bench whose job isn’t scoring comes in and scores enough to keep them in the game before others get their nerve back. Rest assured, there was no comeback today without Malachi stepping up.

Never stopped believing until Silas's first free throw.

I thought UConn was just as good as Duke and the big Duke lead was just constant misses of 3 pointers.

We hit 4 of 5 to end the game and won.

I lost my mind a little bit when Ross didn't close down Ngongba for the 10 second call, but otherwise I had a lot of belief.
That and our defense for much of the first half was atrocious.

Reminded me of the 2004 matchup. Uconn struggled for most of the game but made a run with 3 minutes left
Yup, I was thinking of that one too. Reed almost fouled out a couple of Dukies, like Okafor fouled out at least two, if not three of them. And when we got it to 8, I thought, well, we were down 8 with a little under 3 minutes left against Duke in 2004, this is doable....

What's educational about that (and other threads about this game) is that I saw complaints about Scheyer's coaching and disappointment that player A or player B made a bad crunch time decision, but no player was called out for being garbage or should never see the floor again and so on - which IMHO elevates their fans over the idiots who post vile stuff on our boards.

Ok - so they get the lady byng fancy classy fans award. We’ll just have to make do with the wins.

Props to Silas, was having a rough go with the unforced turnover in the 1st half that smoked momentum and then missing two wide open corner 3s in the 2nd half, but those two contested corner 3s broke seal and helped get us closer. Then of course the deflection, the fact that he's doing this with a high ankle sprain and was wearing a boot to media availability yesterday is nuts.
That was a sequence that was a real momentum killer. The Silas turnover followed closely by AKs airball. UConn was only down by 5 or 7 at that time but that led to a Duke run. Credit to both Silas and AK for being part of game winning play.
