In today's edition of SEC Shorts, they put on a Shark Tank parody wherein teams try to make a case for CFP. Two of the ACC teams voluntarily took themselves out, and I LOVED the way those SEC folks trolled them:
Our defense is so 'Jekyll and Hide'. It's like you gotta dose up on blood pressure meds watching them. With that said, great win in an exciting football game.UConn starts off with a horrible first series.
Duke marches down for an easy score.
I left the chat room and put away the phone.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Now, off to a daddy and daughter dinner.
I also noticed the similarity. Admittedly in 2010 UConn FB was at a higher level, but this year's team has come from deeply lost in the wilderness for more than a decade to the road back in four years.Ok. don't bash me for this...
But right now, for me, it's starting to feel like its 2010 UConn all over again. It is the closest to those 2010 vibes that I have felt since those days.
Basically all the major UConn sports are in upward (or at the top) trajectory again. That year my wife was a UConn freshmen. I remember the UConn FB program going to the Fiesta Bowl, and the men winning the NCAA tournament shortly after. That was a killer year.
I know the FB program isn't even close to those Fiesta Bowl days. But to see them winning like this, generating this type of buzz, while playing independent FB feels even more fulfilling than those days. Because this means that UConn this time around is doing it solely on the strength of its brand, fan support, donors and coaching staff. That's IMPRESSIVE!
I love the comparison to 2010. Bodes well for Spring. MBB won a NC in 2011 and baseball hosted the regionals in Norwichi in June 2010 and made super regional in 2011.I also noticed the similarity. Admittedly in 2010 UConn FB was at a higher level, but this year's team has come from deeply lost in the wilderness for more than a decade to the road back in four years.
