For a decade it was a thriving program. It was a string of incompetents from Hathaway, the Rock Star, terrible Presidents and a lazy, clueless BOD that destroyed everything. We can’t even field a GD marching band with out screwing it up. There is no excuse for the level of success of the program over the last decade except consistently bad decisions after bad decisions.

The band thing probably speaks to ongoing communication issues. It is not unheard of for alumni to fill in when necessary at other schools.

Forget the XL, tear it down, I doubt if the Whalers are coming back. Lol. Didn’t Gampel get a new $10 million dollar roof recently, and that’s not including the brand new court installation. Gampel is fine.

They've already put close to $100M over the past decade into the XL. It ain't going anywhere. Gampel got a new roof lining/panels.. not a new roof.

Gampel sucks and XL sucks. Then we go and build new facilities for all other sports in Storrs that would be the worst in any p5 conference we were trying to get into. We might have to face facts that UConn isn't a serious school.

There is no facility at BC that beats UConn.
