Duke fans are delusional

It's not confusing, it's nonsense. Duke went to the Finals just 2 years before K was hired. The team he inherited was ranked #1 during the previous season. The team JC inherited was called by the Boston Herald "the worst team in the history of the Big East." Another thing that irks me is that when outsiders tell the UConn story, they leave out the 90's. UConn dominated the Big East in the 90's, just couldn't get over the FF hump. I don't remember Gonzaga getting the crap UConn and JC got for not making the Final Four back then.

Well yeah, I guess it more confused me how they moved the bar back and forth so quickly.

B is A. The negative recruiting leading to them committing was the most interesting comment.
Yeah and it lead to a whole discussion on Dan Hurley and the Uconn program needing to slay the dook dragon. Yeah, totally legit.

.-.
Well, the #1 recruit, A.J. Dybantsa, dropped UConn from his list, but I can take solace that he dropped Duke too... I would be shocked if he doesn't end up at Kansas or UNC.

I read the article and listened to the podcast. They’re completely unrelated. It was a very normal interview and the article has nothing to do with anything Cooper said lol. Seems like a good kid, very professional

Only thing that it could be was that Cooper mentioned that other schools were doing negative recruiting, “Duke doesn’t have this, Duke doesn’t have that”, but nothing specific

Feels like the article was just (successfully) made up for clicks. Or maybe something was said once the mics turned off

I guess we’ll never know!

Prepare your shock in advance.

BYU is to be reckoned with here by all accounts.

SBNation is a fan hosted site. The article is reading into a podcast between Cooper Flagg and Caleb Foster.
SBNation is pure garbage. Even for the teams you actually like. They're nothing but clickbait factories. What better clickbait than to antagonize your own fans and fans of other teams at the same time ?

UConn dropped out a long time ago but figured I'd post this article where his father talks about why each school on his final list made the cut. A lot of "I"s in here. At least he says AJ will now get involved in his own recruitment.

The Jerome Tang comment made me laugh. No hip-hop artists named Hurley? Lol

Jerome Tang. First off I like the name. I’m a big Wu-Tang fan."

The NIL comment is what got me:

"“Let me just give you an example,” Ace said. “Say A.J.’s favorite school is Kentucky, for the sake of this argument. And Arkansas comes to us and says we have $10 million for you guys in NIL. Kentucky comes to us and says we only have $8 million for you. Guess where we’re going? We’re going to Kentucky. So just to tell you, yes, NIL is important. But it’s not the end of it.”"

Are colleges really offering $8 million+ for a one year player rental?

.-.
Stupid money. Most kids with that kind of cash won’t work hard.

Is AJ allowed to speak or nah? So glad we get to hear what his dad has to think about each of those schools.

I love a supportive family, but this is a lot. He is an incredibly talented player, so this will all likely work out, but dad needs to chill once this guy gets on somebody's campus. I can’t imagine the amount of texts and calls they’re going to get from dad.

Before Dybantsa narrowed down his list, Ace was the one communicating with college coaches. Now, A.J. will have the opportunity to hear from them himself.

“That was the plan,” Ace told ZAGSBLOG in an exclusive interview. “He didn’t have to talk to 32 coaches. So as I told him from the get go, once you cut down the list, you’re going to start talking to these coaches. Because one of them is going to be your coach.”

Shouldn't it have been "once I cut down the list...?" He picked all the schools.

Trilly Donovan mentioned on twitter this week when a football player got 800k that that’s what the going rate was for a solid p5 basketball starter. Take that for what it’s worth

For some reason, I hope this ends well for the young man, but we have seen this before.

I wish him well, unless he plays against UConn

.-.
This article basically showcases how “weird” his recruitment really is. Nothing here tells me the kid sees college as anything other than a one year pit stop for himself. It feels “un-serious”. Some of these dad quotes are just bizarre. Wu Tang Clan?

I hope he goes to BYU where he would likely play an insignificant year in a place where no one really cares about college hoops, and then just goes off to the NBA. Or go to the Ignite.

This would be a great thing to post ON A DUKE BOARD.

They've gotta be loving every minute someone posts something here to whine about Flagg going there,

To be honest, why would they even care?

Flagg went elsewhere. Get over it. I hate whining. It makes the site look stupid, and invites guests from other teams to reply.

Act like the fan of champions, not like pissy little bitches whose coveted toy was stolen by a bully.

That's why.

Reread my post Tom. I was asking why would Duke care whether people are whining on this site or not. The answer is they wouldn't.

I agree with you that the obsession over Flagg so long after he made his decision is odd.

I agree that this may have been the dumbest article ever posted on here. I don't think it's even an article. It's more like a message board post. Which all of us could have done without seeing. There's lots of dumb stuff all over the internet.
